Now i can't prove this, but i do believe that the melting of the polar caps pose no threat at all to humanity.
You see, as i mentioned before, the increase in temperature will cause an increase in water evaporation. It's is my firm believe that nature will outbalance itself in that situation, thus moving the melted icebergs up in the air, solving the problem.
The ozone layer and global warming has btw nothing to do with each other, as the global warming is made by gasses in the atmosphere creating a shield quite like in a greenhouse, where the sun can get in, but not out. That's the reason why those gasses are typically called greenhouse gasses.
The ozon layer has (almost) nothing to do with greenhousegasses. it's a layer of Oł particles in the upper atmosphere. Gasses like clorine (i think) tend to react with ozone, destroying that layer.
Now, people usually think of the removal of the ozonlayer as something bad and evil. That is not quite correct. You see, from an enviremental point of view, a dose of radiation is not neccesarely a bad thing. When radiation hits a body, it may hit tiny pieces of the dna-string each cell contain. Most animals have a duplicate of each dnastring in each cell, so when just one part of the dnastring is knocked out, nothing will probably happen. When two identical pieces are knocked out, we have a much bigger problem, since that usually leads to mutations. I probably still won't affect anything, since most of our dna is junk and not used, but if it does affect, then we'll have mutating cells.
That either leads to cancer or to mutated kids.
So why isn't this evil?
Well first of all, I'm sure it isn't that difficult to make a strong sunblock that will prevent humans from getting cancer.
Second of all, mutations is the basis of all species. When an animal mutates, it might be lucky and have advantages, instead of extra legs and eyes everywhere. Right now, the number of different animal species are falling steadily. If we destroy the ozone layer, that will create millions of mutants to inhabit our rainforestcovered lands, delivering brand new discoveries in medicin each day!
I hope you see just how much our shortsighted solutions are helping us in the long run!
