well, in the semester I often don't like some stuff neither, thus thinking about quitting, but on the other hand, when I have more time I like the stuff i'm doing and honestly I have no idea at the moment what else I could study or work.

was that such a schoolish system that you can repeat a year ? not just one lecture where one has failed ?

In this case you need a certain amount of EC's, so you can do the final semester. Since i did not meet the requirements, i had to catch up in that year, i could then go on.

But it was not a simple thing like "not enjoying". The problem with being a teacher is, you are judged in practice, not theory (which is a lot easier, gimme an exam! )

Science always interested me, and science still does to this day, so after graduating with a bachelors in computer science, I renrolled in a masters program, with the idea that I'd move on and get a Phd, and and ... well I had no idea at the time wtf I was going to do.

Eventually I quit out of the masters program in computer science with only the final thesis to complete - and I was about 1/2 way through it!

Most people probably thought I was nuts, but from my point of view I simply lost sight of the point in completing the program, and I've never looked back.

I'm not recommending to anyone that they should do what I did, it's just that you've made a big decision in life for your own reasons, and I think you'll work it to your advantage in some way.
