Default mp_theriver is ready to play - 02-04-2006

Mp_theriver (Difficult Times) is ready for play.

The map can be downloaded from FileFront at:
http://returntocastlewolfenstein.fil...ult_Times;1722

And the waypoint files are at
http://filebase.bots-united.com/uploads/mp_theriver.zip

The Axis have built a large storage complex on a peninsula between two large dams. For some reason, this complex contains some critical documents that the Allies would like to have. The complex is surrounded by a river that, strangely enough, flows out of the two dams but doesn't go anywhere else. I wonder why the surrounding countryside isn't flooded by now! Another oddity: the bed of the river is covered with nice green grass just like the hills above. The Allies need to blow the wall of the complex. plus capture a forward spawn flag. Be sure to bring your snorkel and swim fins because you may need to do some swimming. Difficult fighting takes place in the courtyard between the spawn flag and the documents building. There are only two entrances to the documents, both entail intense in-fighting up narrow stairways. It will take many attempts to reach the documents. If you're daring, you can try to walk the tram cable -- it's a nice leap into the river when you get shot at! When your team gets the documents, you have to make a run for the escape truck which is a long way on the other side of the river.

The original map had a moving elevator and tram but I had to disable them because the bots cannot operate buttons at the present time. This will change the game play from what you may remember in the past. Most important, the Allied bots cannot access the upper-level walkways. Also, there is a bug in the map that affects the dynamiting of the drawbridge controls, so I had to leave the drawbridge permanently down.

To install, just stick the Fritz_theriver.pk3 in your Fritzbot folder.

Enjoy,

the bindlestiff

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! I uploaded the wrong waypoint files to the filebase. If you have already downloaded the mp_theriver.zip, please DELETE it and use the zipfile listed below.

The correct file is called "mp_theriver_fixed.zip" and it is available on the filebase and here:
http://filebase.bots-united.com/uplo...iver_fixed.zip

Sorry about that! Got in a hurry and grabbed old files. OOPS!
