Default The Ship - 17-01-2005

Heyyo,

Lol, has anyone else tried this mod? it's pretty funny, but the HARDEST HL1 mod to play. It's set on 1920 cruise ships, and players have to talk to other people to get their names, now here comes the fun part, all players are assassins, and must assasinate one another but only by specified targets called "quarrels". There is a lot of weapons at your disposal, like the poisonous syringe, an umbrella, service revolver, crossbow, old fashioned shotgun (something like a blunderbummer..), and a couple other odd weapons. Since it's onna cruise ship, there are many innocent civilians, and you must be careful not to kill any innocent people. You lose quite a bit of cash for killing civilians, and you can get sent to jail if a surveilance camera, or civilian sees you with a weapon out. Very trickey, first time I played I went bankrupt cause I went to jail too much.

Oh, another thing they added in that makes it harder, is you must keep your character in good health. You must eat, drink, go to the toiletries, have conversations with other humans, and read books for entertainment. I once died cause my personal hygene was unnaceptable.. so I died a dirty man, lmao. You also have a sanity meter at the bottom of the screen, if you kill in bloody ways too much, or do too much killing, your guy may become insane, and commit suicide, once your guy starts to lose sanity, you should go see a psychiatrist in the hospital to help get the stress of too much violence off your mind.. very hard mod, but very entertaining. This would definately be a hard game to code a bot for since there's soo much to do and to take into account... anyone up for a big challenge?

seems`s like a very intresting mod. i`d be very intrested in making a bot for the ship, but first need too read through AIPW 1 & 2.

I played it, it was allright, didn't keep my attention longer than 15 minutes. Seems more like a LAN party kind of game than online.

it`s quite good me and brainz had a little match just now. Take`s a while to get used to it though.

it doesn't really need bots, if it works how I think it does - just a little tweak to remove the minumum number of players - or to make it think it has the minimum number of players

Its kinda The Sims with an added dose of FPStrat Murder...

also it would require alot of coding on the vision side of the bots.

Heyyo,

Nope, requires bots. Civilians (the built in basic bots) are just there mainly as witnesses, and your quarrels are always players, and never the civilians, so in order to play, either bots (fakeclients) or actual human players...

quite a few times the ai did really well at blocking me trying to get through certain door`s, when there in idle mode. I found a solution to just punch them and they run off.
