Yes, this idea is good - but if I remember correctly, it's not entirely new, either. I don't remember in which thread it was, but I think somewhere we talked about that already... anyway, it got a bit lost recently, but especially for n00bs it would sure be nice to have an exe installer that would do all the work for them.
Hell, yes. Writing about it, I remember we were discussing about how this installer should treat the metamod ini files - overwrite or edit (add the required lines)... I think Austin said he could make an installer that would edit existing ini files correctly... yes. However, we lost track of the whole thing as other problems were more important first.
Good you bring this idea back into the discussion.

Well... I'm sorry if I "sucked" this idea out of someone, but it would be nice not having to go through all that boring do-it-yourself installation method.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback

P.S.-> I don't know a thing about programming, I'd do the installer in a creation wizard I have here.... =P

No need to apologize, you didn't "suck" this idea from anyone. I believe you just had this idea all of your own, but somebody else also had this idea.
Concerning that creation wizard, I guess most users won't give a damn whether their exe is really a sophisticated coding artwork or a simple piece of work created with such a wizard, as long as it does what they want it to do - install PB 2.6mm in two clicks!
However, the question is if you can tell your installer to edit a text file (like MetaMod's plugins.ini, for example) instead of replacing it, or to check for components that are already installed.
I bet users won't be happy if the installer fails to detect their installed MetaMod + AMX + StatsMe in Folder A and instead installs a second MetaMod + PodBot 2.6mm in Folder B... 9_9
