Default enhanced botnames file - 22-05-2004

Hello there, i have a EPBnames.txt with around 2000 different bot names, which u can download if u want some variety in your bots' names (note: in case u don't know; u can just change this file's name to botnames.txt and use it in any other version of podbot (such as PMB's mm version or v2.5), it's not just for e[pod])

File Type: txt EPBnames.txt (10.8 KB, 959 views)

Well, I just took a quick glance, and I won't name one of my bots "Ember Featherwing", so much is for sure... (sounds more like a great name for an Elven character for Baldur's Gate or something).
But that's a question of personal taste, and with sooooo many names included in the file, many people are bound to find something nice there, so thanks for posting!

Btw: It's your first post here, huh? Well, in that case welcome on board and have a nice time here, bluebyte!
(Hmmm... bluebyte.... one of your favourite cs-maps wouldn't happen to be de_battle_isle? )

hehe you're right, but i haven't looked at all the names either, i only seek variety. Also, as u know, there are all kinds of people playing on the net with quite diverse tastes/nicks. Yes i know there are plenty of "unlikely to find" names, even some female nicks . But there are female players too . Always playing with the same 30-40 names if kind of artifical for me.

Besides, thanks for your kind reply.. c ya

PODBot 2.6mm(+) has a limitation on number of bot names, 235...

Oops, I didn't know that. Well, I guess that still leaves enough room for variation, doesn't it?

@bluebyte: Tough luck with your nick... now everybody asks stupid questions (like me)...
Oh, btw: Do you know you could have used the "edit" function instead of posting twice in a row? You did it in your third post (edit, I mean), so I guess you know how to use this function. It would have been ideal to edit your second and add the stuff from the third one. It's nicer than double posting - but no problem, I'm just nitpicking again...
Westwood, hehe... Eye of the Beholder, Dune 2... they really had some classics. 9_9

no..
the limit is 100 names..

anymore than that would be a memory leak wouldn't it?
either that or a buffer overflow..

Just put a check in the code to stop the loop where it reads the botnames.txt file if it reaches the max number of bot names. I thought I had put one but maybe I missed it.

Why not use malloc() ? When there's not enough allocated memory you can just use realloc() to increase it. You don't have to use a linked list like CF was using.
