Just to reiterate for the less observant, here is the fix for the "bots unload at mapchange" problem.
1. Start up the server with bots.
2. Once bots have joined the game, go to the console and type meta refresh.
3. Verify that bots are still active in the server, then shut down the server.
4. Restart the server, everything should be fine now.
5. Repeat this any time you change versions of RealBot.
I am gonna make that a sticky post or add this to a sticky thread. Thanks A$$A$$IN
BTW, I tested that and it works with 1.5 and Steam 1.6. But for some reason I'm only getting about 20 FPS on my Steam dedicated server, even though my CPU usage is only like 10-20%. The box is an Athlon 2100+ with 1GB RAM. Any thoughts?
"fps_max" is "72.0"
The 20 FPS game rate is independent of the number of players/bots; 2 bots, 10 bots, no difference in FPS, but CPU is a little higher with 10 than 2. This only happens with Steam; 1.5 is fine.
Hmm... I installed the fast fix for windows and deleted the .rbx and .rbn files... I started de_dust up and noded the whole thing but the bots don't seem to move anywhere... they just kind of stand in one spot and twitch like they're trying to move but can't...
same with me, i noticed that if you delete the rbn files tehy dont move anywhere even after re-noding, and i checking in the maps folder and there are new rbn files, yet they dotn want to follow them, i think what might have happened is they are looking for a new version of rbn files e.g. rbn v8 but rbn v7 are being written.
I just turn off bot shooting ( realbot debug dontshoot 0/1) and walk back and forth between the spawn and goals by different routes. 1 or 2 rounds gets them going just fine. If a bot is stuck in spawn, try knifing its feet to get it to move a little. Once it takes the first step, it's good to go.
