Hey Stefan,

just passing through... but I was thinking...
our server at Bots United is a Linux server, y'know... and there are the gcc compiler and linking tools installed...

cool! as i really need a linux compiling server!!! if i can have access with putty or something and with ftp, so i can upload my source. I will definatly try to get it compiled.. I am not a real linux guru though, so i hope the makefile will work..

Got it, will try to get it working, Linux aint my best friend yet My experiences are 100 times reinstalling, pulling hair out, hoping laptop aint destroyed etc... but i will dare to look back and face the almighty pinguin again

OK, I downloaded the realbot_mm_i686.so and the newly compiled metamod_i386.so. I uploaded both of them to my server. First I copied my entire hlds_l/realbot folder over to my hlds_l/cstrike/addons folder. Then I uploaded the metamod_i386.so file to my cstrike/addons/metamod/dlls folder and the realbot_mm_i686.so to my cstrike/addons/realbot/dlls folder.

I tried to start the server with just the new metamod plugin and it just hung. It wouldn't start up again. So I put version 1.17 metamod_i386.so back into my cstrike/addons/metamod/dlls folder and the server started right up.

Next, I added the line linux addons/realbot/dlls/realbot_mm_i686.so to my metamod/plugins.ini file. The server started up, but when I queried it using the "meta list" command, it said that the realbot was not loaded.

Here is a snip from my log file. It's using MetaMod 1.17 rather than MetaMod 1.17SP because I couldn't get 1.17SP to load.

you should not copy your realbot folder. Your realbot folder stays where it always is, your half-life / ds main folder

hlds_l/realbot

the dll is in:

hlds_l/realbot/dll

so you have:

hlds_l/realbot/dll/realbot_mm_i686.so

the plugins.ini should have:

linux  ../realbot/dll/realbot_mm_i686.so  RealBot
