Hi there
Bots keep repeating messages all the time on my server, in sync they keep saying things like 'no problem' and 'your welcome' etc, every 3 secs and all at the same time.
Any ideas why or how to cure?
Are the spaming bots standing around at the time? It could be that there are no things for them to do within botsight at the point that they are spamming.
Therefore which maps, in what campaign and how many bots are playing may help diagnose the issue.
Not standing around at all, going about their business as usual. Happens on all maps, custom ones and the normal ones.
Wierd.
Happened once before and I restarted the server and all was OK, this time a restart didn't work.
5 bots per side running two 9 map campaigns with both custom and normal maps.
Took a look. He's running Whaleclient 1.3 (and you have to do the cgame...dll and mp...dll swap or you will get sv_pure errors). All your team's bots (axis or allies) say the same message at the same time (e.g. "no problem" etc.). It is almost like a backgound message ping.
So is anybody else doing a whaleclient-fritzbot hybrid? And can we take a look at it (IPaddress) ?
i did one for my clan and i didn't have that problem..
on that note (off topic slightly sorry) how about xp save, it's nice to play vanilla et but when you accidentally get disconnected halfway through a campaign it's frustrating to lose your XP..
OMG! mal your dedicated to your job, if it payed high enough for me i'd work sunday too but nah i gave up working all hours god sends cos no-one appreciated it... i hope they appreciate what your doing (sorry off topic again, my bad)
Mal, Metalhead is right. Work expands to use the time you make available, and managers expectations soon follow, but appreciation is 9to5. Where I live software work is exempt from overtime pay rules, and companies can get a piece of paper exempting them from overtime hours limitations for software workers. And from my experience, burnout doesn't pay.
Pace yourself its 40 years to the finish line, and nobody gets out alive.
