Default help! bots specate but won't join teams - 10-08-2005

Hi all,

I successfully installed pod-bots mm according to the instructions on the pod-bot mm home page, on one of the computers on my network... this worked great with all bots joining teams and playing normally.
I then decided to install the bots onto another computer on the network, and this is where my problems started. To save time, I thought I would just copy all the relevant files and subdirectories for metamod and pod-bot straight over from the 1st computer to then 2nd computer. I started a game and all the bots joined as spectators and that's where they stayed. I then reversed all the changes I had made to the second computer, and proceeded to install pod-bot mm according to the instructions instead. Result: the bots still won't join a team - What has gone wrong? Does Pod-bot simply not work on some computers?
Thanks for your help.

Cripes! So it was a Steam server update which broke it, and not my cock-up after all.
I just turned on the computer with the "working" bots installation and indeed, it too now suffers from spectating bots. This update must have happened sometime between my installing Pod-Bots on the first and second machine.
Thanks for the info.
