Oh FFS - will someone lock this thread already?!
Pierre - I sure do hope you would realize that not EVERYONE in America supports Bush or his policies. This last election, he won by the slimest margin in many years, and I firmly believe that the only reason he won at all is because people tend to back a war-time president/prime minister/whatever - even if it doesn't make sense. And that isn't an American only trait - I've seen it all over the world and throughout history.
To just blanket everyone in America as being Bush supporters is frankly an insult and a slap to the face, and I'm getting tired of hearing it. You don't live here, and you don't know whats going on over here, or how unhappy many people are over here with how things are going. To say that you somehow understand, just because you watch some 10 second soundbite on your local news, or read the postings of some immature 12 year old on the Net, is naive at best, and arrogant at worst. I always figured you an intelligent, rational, mature person, please don't tell me I was wrong.
Whitman - I don't know how to put this to you nicely, but you don't know what your talking about. I wish you'd just step away from the keyboard and pick up a book about history or talk to someone who has actually lived thru the events your talking about, before you start to write about them as if you have first hand knowledge.
Its embarrassing both you and me.
Talk to a Vietnam/Iraq vet - understand what they had to go through thru their eyes. Read a book about the history of Vietnam - you'll be suprised about the true reasons for the war, how the foundations for it started MUCH earlier in time then most people believe, how many people on both sides desperately wanted to avoid the war and be friends, how (ironically) the French played a big role in setting the stage for it, the politics of the time, etc, etc. If you need ideas of some good books to read, I can gladly provide you with a list.
This post is probably going to piss everyone off, but it needs to be said. I will not reply to any post in this thread any further, I have a bot to work on. Thats what Bots- United is supposed to be about

This talk is a conter-productive distraction and accomplishes nothing. It belongs somewhere else like slashdot, or some other flame forum.
BTW: tazering a woman again when shes down on the ground convulsing from the last blast, is abuse of power - pure and simple. Her nervous system was in a state of shock, there was no way she could comply that quickly to their request to put her hands behind her back. Anyone who believes otherwise doesn't understand the human body - read a book and understand.
Even if she had attacked them (which I think was just a BS excuse they made up for the camera so that they wouldn't get in trouble), to shock her again was totally uncalled for, and I hope the cop in question got his ass nailed to the wall for it.
The video doesn't show what became of this cop or this woman after the fact - perhaps he was punished or fired. Yeah it shows she was mouthy, and difficult, the cop had every right to be pissed. But does that mean he can do what he did - NO. He should have pulled her ass out and cuffed her.

I hate to be an ass and point this out - but YOU started this flame war: how you can justify nuking millions of people because of some pig cop from some random video thats designed to wind people up, instead of inform, is a leap of imagination I can't understand.
