ahh now it works :-)
the issue with i486 i386 is new to me, someone reported this, but i just looked, i don't have this softlink, and yes its still working after the latest steam update :-)
the "not too fast adding" issue is documenented, and at least the bot.cfg from the windows pack has delays in it's sample setup.
the issue with cs_version is also new to me, since i only adjust this in the bot.cfg.
the WIP linux version is reportetly not working, there are no releases from stefan, after discovering the issues with metamod and the hlsdk updates, not jet made public. a hunt for all the patches ans special version found were started and resultet in a new src base for compiling metamod (patched) and bots (working for HPB_Bot 4.0).
so i'm kind of spamming this board while waiting for WIP@linux :-)
Cheers MeMeD
P.S.
CONGRATULATIONS TO STEFAN FOR PASSING HIS DRIVING EXAM !!!!!!!!

This works. Just follow the directions on the installation page. You also need to add a symlink like this:
cd hlds_l/cstrike/dlls
ln -s realbot_i486.so realbot_i386.so
I think this has something to do with the most recent Steam update.
Some behavior that's weird:
If I copy and paste the following into the console, it doesnt add all the users:
rbds csversion_1
rbds addbot_1_5_5_b1ug0d-TDL
rbds addbot_1_8_5_Mr_President
rbds addbot_1_4_5_foobar
rbds addbot_2_6_5_I_love_CS
rbds addbot_2_7_5_n30
rbds addbot 2_4_5_pane-TDL
I have to add the users slowly one at a time.
If you type rbds csversion_1 for the first time, it changes the play to 1.6. If you type the exact command again, it switches it to 1.5. I don't think this is the intended behavior. You should have to explicitly type rbds csversion_0 to switch it to 1.5.
That is my $.02. Now that I have gotten this far, I am going to attempt to get my other mods running.
ALSO,
I tried the WIP version. I am confused on this. Is this a metamod plugin? If so, I couldn't get it to work.
