Can bots be enabled to pick up pistols?

Title says it all... would be a cool feature. And it could prevent knife duels in the first round while there are dozens of pistols lying around just waiting to be picked up...

I guess that means they can. That's good news. I wonder why this feature has never been introduced into PODBot. I always found it very annoying and very unhumanlike. I mean, if I run around with a poxy little Glock that's about to run out of ammo and see a deagle or USP on the ground, what do I do? Ignore it?

I thought I added this feature already when I handed over the bot to splorygon ?
or maybe I'm wrong...

the bots need to look around for entities called "weapon_xxx" in addition to the usual "weaponbox". Weaponboxes are the name of entities when a gun is dropped, weapon_xxx is the entity name when the same gun is deliberately placed by the map designer in the map.

It may be my CS (as you probably know, the official one doesn't work on m,y pc, so... 9_9 ), but whereas bots pick up any other weapons they walk over (whether placed by the mapper like those Macs and shotguns in cs_highsociety or dropped by another player), but I am yet to see a T bot picking up a dropped USP to replace his Glock with. Or any bot picking up another pistol because its own one is out of ammo.
Or don't they pick up the standard pistols in general?

i was testing the bots play the other day and noticed that some bots ocassionally still cannot pick up some guns 8o they just jump around the gun till they get killed or the round s over ....

yet others bots can so easily come by drop their current weapon and pick up a new one


i dont know if this demo will show it clearly or not..

yea I kind of know a bunch of problems with picking up stuff...
+ They don't pick up pistols
+ They can't seem to drop their sniper rifle for another gun..
+ They have trouble picking up stuff when theres a sidewalk or some up raise right next to where the gun is...

the first one I think I can do..
the second one I'm having trouble with..
the third one should be a bit of a challenge..
