Why?
No, really, the bot chat has always been a bit odd.
- The chance that a bot would reply to something has never been super-high, and maybe it is even lower now.
- Bots have always been very likely to say 2 lines directly after another, without any reply inbetween. That has always annoyed me, because it's very unrealistic. It always looked kinda like this:
Killaruna: "Why did they include the vehicles in cs?"
Botman: "I'm off for a cigarette break..."
DaTa: "No idea, Killaruna"
DaTa: "It's sooo cool to chat with you, Laserdance!"
...bah...
- Bots cannot go very deep into a conversation. If I have for example "cheater" as a trigger, I can edit some comments about cheaters. Now let's say that among these comments there is one about CD and one about VAC. If I now add a further group of comments that are triggered by CD and VAC, bots are highly unlikely to ever enter this "level". And if I add an even "deeper" category, bots won't ever use it. I always wondered why this was... well, I can imagine it's due to some limitations in the bot dll, but I'm pretty clueless as to why these limitations have been introduced. IMHO, it would make the botchat funnier if they responded better to each other's comments, and more interesting if they could go deeper into a certain topic.
