Detail brushes?

The other day I was looking through the zhlt source code and found a detail brush type. The problem is that I cannot find ANY tutorials on them. I even looked for Quake 2 detail brushes and couldn't find anything.

So does anyone know how to use these?

Check for Quake3 tutorials on them - they used detail brushes. I used to know what they were and how to use them, but I haven't mapped for years......

Re: Detail brushes?

Quake 3 detail brushes are supposed to be different then Quake 2. I am guessing that Half-life's are similar to Quake 2's.

Anyway, they are disabled in the current build of Zoner's. Hmm. Maybe something like TxQBSP can be modified to work.

No I don't mean detail textures.

In the compikse tools, there is code for detail brushes. However, it is disabled unless you compile your tools defining ZHLT_DETAIL. Then you tie them to info_detail.
