just gave it a quick test, there are still some bugs in de node system(perhaps they will need to learn more with the added algorithm), and i'm still irritated by the camping (to random).

after playing about 20 minutes on de_dust:
nice added feature of telling what skill level the bot is that killed you or you killed, but there are a few errors. 1) it doesnt always tell you when you die (it does almost always, wasnt able to figure out why it didnt sometimes) 2) it tells you that you killed a bot even though you didnt. this happened a few times. another bot killed it, but it congratulated me on killing it and told me its name and skill the camping is a bit annoying. they stick together a bit much, its wierd seeing a line of bots running around in formation. (edit: just realized that that is probably due to not enough nodes at the time...) they still get stuck on things quite a bit, didnt see them learning from it either. hm. there was something else... cant remember now. oh well. i will probably test it more after the superbowl. |

dedicated server problem. server is cs1.5 w/adminmod. when level is changed all realbots disappear. here is the message. this happens consistently on level change. plz help

try deleting your experience files... .rbx and .rbn files...
@stephan: nice work... It looks like an official version will be out pretty soon... little bugs here and there and maybe some stuff to add... bots buying same weapon, weapon priorities not corresponding, a weapon pick up system? bots running backwards after seeing an enemy... stragetic camping and bomb planting stealth: walking... etc. hearing... oooo can't wait... more distinguished skill levels... newbs too good... grenade usage and smoke effectiveness... |

I'm also having the problem where the realbot plugin unloads on map change. What's weird is that even if I go back to WIP 7, the problem still happens--the bots unload and refuse to start up again. My dedicated server is running Windows NT, CS 1.5. I tried getting rid of all the rbx/rbn files, and it didn't help. Any suggestions?

I am baffled... although I am brand new to realbot, and I may be doing something wrong. I am also having the "plugin not loaded" problem. I have to actually shut down the server to change maps, which is really not good... I am running HLDS steam (1.6) with WIP#8
another question... how do i get the personalities and names i save to load up in game, instead of Realbot and (1)Realbot. also, my bots are only buying pistols...??? This seems like it would have been covered by now so if anyone can point me to the thread... it would be greatly appreciated! |

i was just playing on one map for a while, then quit and came back hours later and played on a different map, so i havent had the map change problem.
after playing more i noticed: -bots buy mulitple weapons in the same round? i only noticed this happen once for sure, but there was a shotgun on the ground at the beginning of round 2 (the one right after the pistol round, so they didnt have one from that round). -hostages: they seem to just grab one and run off. it would be a lot better if they would grab more. maybe all of them? -reloading: i think the timing on this needs to be worked on. they dont seem to know when to reload unless they run out. i was watching a bot (not sure what skill level) running around with a pistol. when it found an enemy, it fired, but it only had one shot in the clip. so it had to retreat and reload. unfortunately, the bot missed, so the other bot just ran off completely unaware that it had been shot at. which is something else completely. i realize hearing hasnt been put in yet. but i really wish it was :D edit: the bots running backward thing is rather strange also. i saw 2 bots that were enemies running at each other, but both running backwards. so they didnt see each other until they were past each other, then started shooting. it wasnt really all that annoying, just odd. |

just played some bomb maps, the bomb planting is good now and the ct's have no problem to find it and defuse it.
There is still a bug in the reloading sometimes they keep on shooting with an emty gun, probebly when the are out of ammo. And the bots walk kind of laggy like: fast slow fast slow fast ect. |

just upgraded to wip8 now up until now i have been able to upgrade without a hitch, i installed wip8 and now everytime i start it crashes out, so i tried not running anything but meta/realbot not amx or anyother mods, just meta/realbot and it crashed, and it even stated that realbot_mm.dll had crashed, the exact error was

seems to me i have to go to the drawing board again. I checked my DLL's and saw that both realbot_mm.dll and metamod.dll where okay, so i did not mess up the release.
I tested dedicated servers (even on Linux a bit, using the BU server) and they did not have map changing problems. I am baffled as well. I begin to wonder if it is a RB bug, a Metamod BUG or just a STEAM bug. Perhaps a combination of all? Ava3ar, did you try loading realbot_mm.dll also when cleaning up your RBX and RBN files? |

i thought that was the problem so i deleted them all, and it still did it, hehe, although its the same error as when i try and lauch xtra_fun for amx, or in fact any module for amx, hehe
im starting to belive 1.6 hates me, ill try them all again on 1.5 see if that fix's things // K then you just uploaded a fix at the exact same time i was replyin, ill try that fix and let you know |

i have bad news :( it (realbot_mm_i386.so) crashes on a Celeron (P II), allthoug same Suse linux version. i runs fine on an amd Athlon. Both steam. the error from console is this: Code:

after a couple of tests here is what i found
1.5 Works (if installed right, so all you who say it doesnt go install it right) 1.5 dedicated = same as above 1.6 (Steam-less http://www.gign.lv (you need to know latvian to understand the site)) doesnt work (proberlly becuase im not running steam) = doesnt work 1.6 dedicated = same as 1.5 dedicated |

So I tested on my HLDS 1.6 (steam) Meta 1.17 AMX 0.9.8 REAL-WIP#8...
Still baffled.. now all my names and personalities are loading (magicly?) but still get "plugin unloaded" on mapchange and i have to restart server to change map... disconnecting all my internet guests... hahah yea right, no one comes to my server.:( |

Actually no I didn't. I'm using the original WIP8 file. Metamod must put some setting in the registry that refresh updates. All the config files haven't changed since the original install. But now it works again. Meta refresh + server restart seems to be the fix.

Will the new unstuck code clean up navigation problem areas from the previous WIP, or should I nuke all the RBX/RBN files?

FYI:
When bots learn, they edit 2 things: 1. The navigational table (RBN files) 2. The experience (danger, contact with enemy, etc) table (RBX) So, this means, if i change something in the Nodes code, you should delete both RBN and RBX (as both are linked to each other). If i only change experience related code, it is adviced to remove RBX files only. If you are not sure, simply remove both ;) |

thats built into the dll (i think), that needs to be changed i think to loadable anytime (so that it can be started if it crashes on server start)
just a sugestion, and might not be impimented. |

Posting some issues or bugs don't know if there bugs or not.
I kinda created a list of what I saw on one de map and wrote them down. - Bots sit on planted or droped bomb. - Walk back and forth on mesh suspend bridges like the old de_aztec ones don't know if its a bad node but theres paths all over the bridge they just run on and run back in forth between two points even when being shot or if bomb is planted. - Run away from bomb at times but its usually about 10 secs from blowing up . - Don't buy kits, nades or shields often or at all maybe create a buytable adjuster vgui like personality manager. - Takes a few seconds for bots to start defusing- they for me sit on the bomb for about 2 seconds or more and then start to defuse, was wondering if u wanted them to start defusing just as they touched the bomb. - Bots walk backwards alot even when being shot. - Don't draw weapons on enemy sometimes when running with knife. - Sit at spawn sometimes not really that often either but I do catch them probabaly a node problem on my end but not sure, even tho node paths run all over spawn. - Might have hard time seeing bomb if covered by gun or corpse. - On AS maps VIP will not go to Rescue Zone, he acts as if he not on a as map. - When human calls for back up the bots that respond will not come at times. I might be more of creating a check list instead of helping out with bugs sorry:| |

o_O Ok... extremely weird...
So I rolled back to WIP#7.. didnt seem to work, and the server crashed after about 20 min of gameplay. Then I took a break and threw up my new site: http://www.420blunt.web1000.com Finished that, and started the server back up (still WIP#7)... no problems... so I re-installed the fastfix... no problems... Everything works smooth as $#!T Thank you so much for a kick-a$$ (and mysterious) bot!!! They even knife the chickens in cs_italy!!! WHAT!?! Keep up the good work. |

I'm running a linux server and realbot AI 1.0 for quite a while. Today I checked this site and was amazed about the progress realbot made since AI 1.0.
I'm aware that the linux port isn't on top of the list but I gave it a try. I installed the modified metamod 1.7 and fastfixlinux and got the bot running - but not as expected. From the docs I learned that the waypointing was redone and no longer uses the old .rbw files therefore I followed the advice and walked all over the map. I enabled the internet mode and set max 2 which added one bot to each team. But they don't move anywhere unless they see an opponent. The only other way I got them moving is attacking them in which case they move to my position and stop there until attacked again. I also tried the navigation nodes files but that didn't do the trick either, only ONE time one of the bots moved on it's own... Anyone with similar experiences? What could I've done wrong? |

I already had though about that possibility. That's the reason why I installed the premade nodes files (which work for others) but that doesn't make any major differences.
Could the old .rbx (and exp) files cause that problem? I didn't cleanup them to be able to switch back to AI quickly... |

yeah i just noticed: i rolled back from 8 to 7 and now 7 doesnt work ether. bots eventually disappear. Any help is appreciated

have u guys tried like loading each one at a time. I know a while ago admin mod was wierd and you had to put certain plugins after it or before it in the metamod plugins.ini file for it to work properly. I probably don't have any idea what i'm talking about but i've tested may other WIP bot programs. If I had such problems I would make sure everything was installed right and hooked up right(which i'm sure you do :) ). Made sure the metamod.dll for both plugins was the same version. And if it crashed I would try loading one at a time to see if it was one of the programs that was causing the error or both running at the same time. You could always try the AMX mod for 1.5 if you haven't already.
Could they maybe just like add to the server execution command line like +localinfo mm_gamedll ../Realbot/dll/realbot_mm.dll instead of in the plugins.ini maybe adminmod is having issues. Maybe it could also be a problem with the differances in like game type. I mean version wise like the realbot WIP has alot of 1.6 structure to work for 1.6 and you have admin mod which for 1.6 has some little issues still and for 1.5 is has differant like I don't really know how to describe it. I guess what i'm trying to get at is if one is mainly for 1.6 but should work on 1.5 and the other is mainly for 1.5 will they be compatable with each other fully. Ok I'm done trying to be smart going to beat self with frozen fish 8o |
