you mean instead of camp-spot, it would be snipe-spot, lol

i'm not sure but i dont htink that the ladder code has been properlly implemented yet, although RB always seem to have a couple in the sewer when i play, and thye always come out too, lol, must be your waypoints, but hten again i do have another bot doing my waypoints, so they never get stuck.

EDIT: I think i know why bots sometimes get stuck at spawn.. i saw a variable does not get initialized on round-start properly. So, this means the timer is set IN freezetime, then when freezetime is over the bot will mark 'connection as troubled' because it could not reach it within 2 secs (logically, it was 'stuck' due freezetime)..
That 'connection troubled' might be a problem for me in another area if setting a bot's maximum velocity to zero for a few seconds wrecks the connections.

I've been running a Warcraft3 mod with RealBot for some time. For those unfamiliar, WC3 is a blast. It adds many more possibilities, strategies and skills to develop. You choose from 5 races. Each race becomes very powerful in a different ways over the weeks as you play. The races are:
  1. undead: rusher -- fast, quiet, highjumping suicide bomber
  2. human: sniper -- almost invisible, hits freeze for 2 secs, teleports
  3. orc: grenadier -- BIG 'nades, keeps guns after death,chain-lightning
  4. night elf: finesse -- evades, good shot, freezes enemy for 20 secs
  5. blood elf: agressive -- hits hard, double health, can damage by looking
In addition, you can buy (one) additional skill -- any race can become fast, almost invisible, have additional health, etc. That skill goes away when you die though, and they cost money.

RealBot and WC3 play pretty nicely together. WC3 is 'bot aware'. It selects races and skills for them automatically, etc. Somehow, bots are even able to use the 'ultimate' skill. I haven't tried to figure out why, but I was certainly pleasantly supprised!

The 'ultimate skill' for the 'Night Elf' race is 'tangle-roots'. Once you have enough experience points you can freeze an enemy in place for 20 seconds. WC3 does this by setting your maximum velocity to 0 during that time (same for the human hit freeze thing).

It would be really nice for the connection to not be affected if the bot's max velocity is set to zero...

i might need to add a server command for this 'troubled connection learning' then. So you can turn it off? You can always fix connections yourself ;)

That could do it.

There is also always the problem of the personnel carrier in cs_militia2k. It gets parked anywhere. I sometime park it so the above-ground route to the house is completely blocked. I imagine that would toast things. Checking maxvelocity wouldn't fix that, but the variable could.

Doesn't the beginning freeze time also work by setting velocity to zero? I'm confused tho because I read somewhere that the method doesn't work for bots. I'm further confused because 'tangleroots' only used to freeze humans (the bots just kept going). However, I upgraded to the latest engine and the bots now get frozen too, as they should.

Yes, that would be a good feature, i could train bots more carefully. but do i understand it right, that new connections still would be added (but no longer removed). [ perhaps make it also an option :D]

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8

I just installed Realbot WIP #8 with hotfix and it finally got working. Even it plays with Warcraft 3: Expansion mod. But on one funniest thing is that: bots can buy items from warcraft3 shopmenu. Dunno how it happened but they do!

I haven't find any problems with it yet. But i have question about:
1. How to force realbot to write *.rbn files, so in future it won't be ness. to teach bots "where to go" again?

usually by switching to the next level (i.e. don't stop and start server after learning, or just reload map...)
