the wikki i "want" is for bots-united server admins to server-users, i don't want to write dozens of "here you go emails" with infos regarding the website and email stuff of the bot developers, and having to correct my mistakes in dozens of places to keep knowlege up with documentation.

so it is not related to developer or not. and like Terran said, it must not be non-public. some parts like setting up the bots (on linux) is hard to document, the developers are not all @home in linux and it's sometimes too much work for me to install all .exe's on windows and then integrate that over to the linux version and make a pakage. other things like how to loginto the BU server are confidential but also important...

so easy guides and better usage of the available tools and posibilities is the main target.

cheers memed

go to my test botwiki at http://neuron.tuke.sk/~wagner/wiki/wiki/index.php and try it yourself

the wiki I an using, phpwiky is very easy to install and maintain. It has support for multiple users (and accounts obviously), admins and backup/restore functions.

went there... how the heck do you add a new page and an URL to it with that wiki edit stuff ?

Terran 10-03-2004 21:14

Re: what about wikki for server stuff

That's really easy:

Edit an existing page (e.g. the SandBox) and write i.e. PierreMarieBaty (this is called a camel-case or wiki word) and save the changes. Than you see a ? behind PierreMarieBaty which indicates that this page doesn't exist yet. Klick on the ? and the page will be created and you can edit it's content.
With koraX wiki you can also write [Pierre-Marie Baty] which would produce a similar result but without those ugly camel-case words.

Hi Terran,
it looks like your Wikki code is translated by the board software, could you re-post it with the code tags from the board software ?
or is it only written "italic" (kursiv) ?

Terran 10-03-2004 21:22

Re: what about wikki for server stuff

I used italic ;)

ah ok it works now, you need to put the word between [brackets] :)

The downside is that you can't post normal brackets anymore with that wiki stuff :)

WRONG 8o

wiki automatically creates a 'new page' when you type something like that :
TheNewPage or NewBot or MyStuff (thenewpage, the new page or Thenewpage is not good)

get it ?

and see my wiky, I edited botcoding page to show you how easily you can write brackets.
Everthing can be done in phpwiki :D
