Well, to be honest, it didn't feel like a great moment of triumph or something like that. You know, I liked playing 1.6. The new weapons were ok, I never understood why ppl argued so much about the shield, I had terrific custom models (way better than those for 1.5) - but Steam and my PC just couldn't be friends. When everything was over, I was just disappointed and still a bit angry... and mentally exhausted.
Now, however, I feel quite a relief, because now I realize how much time I spent just to fix Steam up, and how many days I basically wanted to test something under 1.6, but knew perfectly well that there was some error again and that I didn't feel like fiddling around with it again. Now I can look forward to getting TacOps and learning how to play it (thus showing Valve the imaginary middle finger, har, har).
Oh, and right now, I have fallen in love with SimCity 3000 Unlimited again... it's such a relaxing and different game. Yeay, call me a sissy. I still like it.
