Interesting story. I only started following it recently so I cannot comment much. It sounds like the politicians are once again out of touch with reality and trying to make a power grab, the people be damned.

Those fuckheads are there to serve the people who bribe them the most with "political contributions", which is a legalized form of bribary.
Nothing will change until at least the legalized bribary of politicians is no longer allowed.
