Closest i've had to what you are describing, was when i ripped an entire toenail off in a swimming pool without noticing.. (I noticed when there was a red trail following me.. and so did everyone else ;/)
But was that the end of it? NOOOO! it got infected.. the entire toe when a deep pulsating red, with loads of green coming from the nail bed.. lovely experiance
