I don't think there are non-free drivers? Maybe on the live CD, never tried that one...but I had to install the binary nvidia drivers by myself...

Cons:
- Don't know the root password of the Live CD
- No KDE
- Live CD has no GCC, so you can't compile bots with it

- Ubuntu has its root account deactivated, use sudo instead.
- You can install KDE manually
- Ya, unfortunaly you have to install those manually(which is very easy through synaptic)
