I thought some people would point it out, but a nuke causing a tsunami is perfectly possible and logical. Look

The most devastating nuke ever launched in the atmosphere was done during a H bomb test by the communists, it was about 60 kiloton TNT equivalent. But even at that time the bomb's power had been artificially limited (because of obvious residual radiation and uncontrollable side-effect issues). The nominal power of that bomb, i.e. if it had been launched at full power, was 150 kiloton in fact, which is more than twice as much. Keep in mind that the Nagasaki bomb was 10 times less powerful than this one.

Nowadays the nukes power count up in megatons. That means at least 100 times bigger than the Nagasaki blast. A single nuke in the atmosphere from any of the nuclearized nations (France for example) if launched at nominal power would bust a capital city in twelve seconds, and the residual dust would spread in the atmosphere and start a "nuclear winter" around a half of the planet.

What causes the devastating power of a nuke is 1°) the heat and 2°) the blow. 3°) would be the residual radiations eventually. BUT, the blow of an atmospheric bomb actually hitting the target is a FRACTION of its original power, because the air is a COMPRESSIBLE MATERIAL. A majority of the initial power is dissipated in the atmosphere. it's like if you wrapped a grenade in 3 meters thick foam.

Water, on the other hand, is an uncompressible material.
This is why bombing a dam with air-ground missiles has little effect, whereas bombing it from deep water is lethal, because the explosion blast cannot be dissipated, thus applying its forces entirely on the dam itself.

What is the best way to test a nuke nowadays? Underground. France has dug kilometers deep holes to bury its nukes in Mururoa in 1995. And the nukes tested were NOT the most powerful nukes in the world.

There are nukes in this world that are so powerful that they have NEVER been tested. One of them, a multimegaton, dropped in the oceanic floor, in deep water ? Able to cause a tsunami everyday Stefan. Word.

*edit*

That said, I am NOT advocacing the theory of this guy, I am just saying it is possible.
