I wonder why some people can honestly believe in those things?
I always suspect the preacher to be a crook luring money out of naive dump people when I'm reading pages like that... Have you guys seen the 4kidz place on the site? it's hillarious, and a wonderful example of fundamentalistic brainwash.
You could easily draw parallels from that kind of thing to polls about fox news, that shows that most viewers watching fox as their primary news source, believed that weapons of mass destruction was found in Iraq. I guess is pretty much the same reason why 51% of the population could vote for bush... And it's not because the're dumb, because I know many who aren't. It's because the media is developing a subjective apporach to facts among the population, where objective information is turned in to a question about belief.
If you believe in bush you would approach negative informations about him subjectively, and try to deny the informations, because they oppose your belief, and doing anything else than denying them would make you vulnerable in you belief because you showed doubt in you ideological position.
This approach is exactly identical to that if our fellow preacher over at jesussave.us. Expressions like darwinism and evolution is labeled as bad, and are not seen as logic ways to explain the world and the species living upon it. Instead they are seen as opposing postulates bringing doubt about the original way of thinking things, and thus attacking the views of those who believed in the bible's way of explaining things...
In a society based on belief, facts will be a question of pride.
The sad thing about it is that we'll never get forward in such a world without someone admitting that they're probably wrong...
Well that was completely offtopic... and all this has no real logic basis, it's just random thoughts about the topic.
btw: I do believe conflicts based on beliefs was one of the major reasons why the middle ages took so long... It's a shame to se the world moving in that direction again. I could be wrong though.
btw²: I have honestly no ideaif darwin was right, although I must say that his explanation seems more logical than anything else that I have heard.
A greyscale with just one color? Heaven must surely be a dull place.
This calls for an extraordinary mix of psychology and extreme violence!
