some HL2 mod news plz

HOw is the HL2 modding business going these days?
I was wondering since there are tons of mods for HL1 , but not that much for HL2 , or am I wrong?
curious to know , despite the fact that I can't run HL2 on the laptop I'm using right now:P
by the way , Is Counter Strike Source considered a HL2 mod or what?

8th ES is the one i follow. the only mod i have time for. probably cause i have no really time to talk about.. but since im beta tester i try to help out as much as i can.. and ofcourse get to play the game before everyone else.. and its not until now its getting into shape.

to give out some news.. we are working hard to get rid of nasty bug crashing the game while you fly.. sounds like it can be resolved after last update but i dont believe until i see it.

they release a fly video from one of the tester flying around.. in newtonion.. which is hard to see when he doesnt do much manouvers, pretty much fly straight and turn som.. also.. i fly i first person that vid is in third.. i guess.. to show of the ship.

Hey , what the hell is insurgency? I bet this is gonna be another US army propaganda crap like Soldier of Fortune or Delta Force.......to show the world how awesomely bad the marines are doing ! I think I'm gonna waste this one, haha

but I also like the temptation of combing FPS with RTS (since I'm a fan of WorldCraft) surely ES with the new concept of Ship to Ship combat would be great ! Iron grid looks cool too..

technically spaking how is the HL2 mod introduced , like HL1 ?
