Beer Bowling

I don't know if anybody here has heard of the magnificent game 'Beer Bowling' before, but i doubt it, because it afaik only exists in Denmark. So let it be my honour to introduce you to the singlemost wonderful danish invention ever.
Ladies and gentlemen, i present you: Beer Bowling. As you might have concluded already, this game is about drinking beer, which from a neutral point of view is generally wonderful. But! Besides beerdrinking, this invovles skills and sportsmanship beyond measure. The Ingredients of the game are:
The primary objective of the game is to roll the ball and hit an empty bottle placed between the chairs of the opposing teams. The chairs are placed like this (with the bottle in between them): Code:
[ ] The distance between the chairs on the same side is between 1 and 1½ meters. The rules are: The game is started by emtying a beer. The team that accomblishes wins the right to start the game. (well call that team 'Team A' from now on) The empty bottle is now placed between the chairs, And people sit down on the chairs. From now on, only one player from each team can leave the chairs at a time (to pee or puke or whatever). Now a player from Team A tries to roll the ball and hit the bottle placed between the oppising team's chairs. (while seated, of course) _IF_ the ball hits the bottle _and_ tips it over, then team B has to empty a bottle of beer together. (the first player takes a half, then the next player takes the rest). When you are drinking a beer, you can only drink from it once (to ensure the team won't take forever to drink the damn beer). If the ball didn't hit the bottle, one player from team B just go and get the ball, sits down and throw it. The players of course takes turns throwing the ball. If the bottle was tipped over, it is prudent that team B raises the fallen bottle before a new throw is made. (if not, they will have to empy another beer). So that's the basic rules of the game. Each game consists of three sets. In each set, one team has to tip the bottle over three times. after each set, the teams switch side. The winner on the match stays on the court to meet the next opponents. _Important_: It is allowed to distract the opposing team by stripping or whatever, to ensure that they won't hit the bottle. Use your imagination. However, if the bottle is tipped over while a player from the opposing team is standing up, that player has to drink the beer all by himself. Of course there are lot's of variations and such, but go ahead and try it. I ensure dunkness, except if you're winning big. You've even set up a place dedicated to it, that should be the Danish national sport.

The national championship in beer bowling will be held in a town closeby in august, so feel free to come and compete, even if you aren't from denmark :D btw Creysson, it can be played on concrete or whatever if a lawn is impossible to find... I've even played it indoors one time :D You just have to adjust the length of the field, so i won't get too easy... if you don't want to get very wasted very fast. |

You just go and drink and listen to some motherfuckin' ROCK'N'ROLL! Skip that stupid lawn, you don't need it anyway. Just go to some Rock'n'Roll band, freak out like hell and get drunk in the process - or vice versa, of course. No lawns, no friggin' umbrellas, no reimported beer... just some genuine make-you-happy brew and some good ole hand-made RRRROCCK!!! No matter where you're from, no matter what beer you got - anything that does the trick for you. The only thing that matters is that you don't start liking some cheap-ass poser pussy pop music or any drinks that might be associated with it. For crying out loud, is the world forgetting what getting drunk is all about? Sheesh. Uh, that's a negative - at least in my case. I was faaaaaar from sober when I wrote that post, but the last time I vomited was ages ago.
That's why I'm really not a big fan of such drinking games: I hate drinking just in order to get drunk. I prefer drinking because I enjoy it, and if I get drunk in the process, that can be a nice side-effect (up to a certain point, of course). But IMHO, the problems with alcohol start where people see it as a kind of "task" or "duty" to get drunk because otherwise, they wouldn't have had a good time - which is pure nonsense. Well, my 2 cents... Btw, do you know that slogan: "I can have fun without drinking alcohol"? I'm sure you do... as soon as you read something like that, the first thing that comes to mind is a 40-year-old lady who looks as if she had never had fun in her whole life, hehe... but recently on a festival I saw a nice T-shirt print: "We can drink alcohol without having fun" :D Please excuse me now, a girl from Dnepropetrovsk, Ukrainia, just sent me an ICQ message. Apparently, she wants me to marry her. |

Lol yeah, nothing can compete with reimporting beer from Germany:D It is not without reason that I live so close to the border... We are looking forward to the wedding Wrecks! |
