Thank you france
Although it is a delicate subject, i would like to thank france for giving this 'blow' to the european constitution.

Re: Thank you france
Good. Hopefully the final results will carry it out. Then perhaps there will be a strong europe, not one glued together.

Re: Thank you france
Alons enfats de la patrie
Le jour de gloire est arrivé! Contre nous de la tyrannie L'étandart sanglant est levé! L'etandart sanglant est levé... Entendez-vous dans les campagnes And the rest I forgot, except for the chorus :P |
Re: Thank you france
Ack, too much french! Je ne comprends pas!

Re: Thank you france
Oh come children of the fatherland
The day of glory has come Against us, tyranny The bleeding flag is raised The bleeding flag is raised! Do you hear in our countrylands Those wild soldiers shouting? They come up to your embraces to cut the throat of your sons and your wives! To your weapons, citizens! Form your battalions! Let's march! March! And shall a dirty blood water our furrows! Sacred love of the fatherland Drive, sustain our vengeful arm! Liberty, beloved liberty Fight with your defenders Fight with your defenders! We'll rejoin the quarries When our elders won't be there anymore We'll find there their dust And the trace of their virtue! To your weapons, citizens! Form your battalions! Let's march! March! And shall a dirty blood water our furrows! (french anthem) 70-75% participation. 57% no. One of the highest participations ever. Now the hard part remains to do. Back us up, europeans! No comment today, for I am drunk. P.S. I know: the french anthem is one of the most aggresive anthems there are. Comes straight from the 1789 revolution. That's part of France's identity I guess. |
Re: Thank you france
I'd really like to know if the french said no because they wanted to "slap" chirac, because of national fears, or even because of objective problems with the constitution ...

Re: Thank you france
According to polls, it's nearly 30% because of the very bad economic situation in France (unemployment, relocations etc) 30% because they wanted a change in the government and 30% because of flaws in the text itself
(and 30% for that is not a low score at all IMO) |
Re: Thank you france
Jeez, I hope more countries will vote NO. This will teach those politicians a lesson they deserve. We are not allowed to have a say conmcerning the contents of the European constitution, and in some countries (like Germany) we are not even allowed to vote on what will be the constitution of the group of states we live in. It's our Europe, too! Fuck it, we all are Europe - we, the people! Not those corrupt fuckheads who think from election to election (if they are capable of thinking at all) and constantly seem to forget that they are there to serve the people, not vice versa. >:(
The 1st of June is the date for the vote in the Netherlands, if I'm not mistaken. All I can say is: HUPP HOLLAND HUPP ! :D |
