HLDS invisible under Win XP
Since I changed OS from Win98SE to WinXP SP2 I got problem with testing DS. Everytime I was trying if something works (or not) on DS I've been doing this way:
I was starting HLDS CS1.5 (LAN) on my PC, then - at the same PC - I was starting the client CS and I was joining to my HLDS I created and I was able to test something. Since I switched to Win XP SP2 I'm not able to do any test like above anymore, because my HLDS is invisible for my client I'm starting at the same PC! Yes - I even did switch off the firewall included into XP to see if this is the reason of my problems, but it didn't help me. The similar problem I have , too , is this - when I'm starting the listenserver (LAN) CS1.5 - during the game, under Win98 - when I was pushing ESC button on my keyboard I was able to see the list of servers on my LAN - including also my listenserver, too. Now - under Win XP - I can't see anymore my (listen)server on the list of servers in my local area (it's also invisible for me). :( The problem I described is really annoying me, since it's very important for me as a beta-tester for few addons for CS to still be able test something on DS on the same PC I'm starting the client. Anyone can help me? :( |
Re: HLDS invisible under Win XP

Thanks a lot, but I'm wondering why exactly I can't see this server under XP? What is the reason? :) |

Re: HLDS invisible under Win XP
I didn't use under IPX Win98SE. Only TCP/IP. The same now under XP but under XP it works odd (like described above).
