Its an online only game designed by the US army as a recruiting tool. Instead of doing any recruiting however, it has become one of the most popular online shooters to date. So anyone heard of any bots for it?
Check it out http://americasarmy.com/

How does this game play anyway? I read the about page (I still laugh at the phrase "war on terror"), and it doesn't clear up if its coop or team deathmatch.

I can't see why they would make it teamplay, then you've got half the players in fighting the US as the opposing military force, not a very effective recruitment tool.

If its coop, then theres already NPCs to play against. Er, I guess then you want coop bots to fill the other player classes.

The game sounded like it might be allright, so I searched for bots, and all I could find is a way to spawn inanimate NPCs to shoot at.

Alright, its not coop, its objective based. And one team does not play as "terrorists" as in counter-strike. Instead, no matter which team you are on, you and your teamates look like american soldiers while the other team looks like terrorists, and the other team to themselves look like americans while you look like terrorists to them. And there isn't a difference between weapons for the teams either. For example, if you choose to play as a rifleman, you will use an m16. When a person from the other team is a rifleman they, from your point of view, will look like they are using an ak74 but to themselves are using an m16. BUT, if you kill a person from the other team, you can pickup their weapon and it will still be the opposite. So if you drop an enemy rifleman, you can pick up their ak74 and use it, it won't magically turn into an m16. They could do this with the game, since the guns are identical in magazine capacity and damage, which i think is better than counter-strikes way of doing things, because both teams' weapons are the same. I really suggest you download this one and play it nonstop. I could play it somewhat when i had dialup and it was pretty sweet, but now that i have satelite its not possible. There is a sweet ranking and stat tracking system that the game uses. Plus, what makes it a recruiting tool, is how you actually have to complete an offline basic training course before you can play online. Training such as the obstacle course, marksmanship, weapons familiarization, every kind of training our real troops must go through. Plus, that training is if you want to be just a simple grunt. If you want to be a medic, you must complete an additional medic training course where you actually have to sit through a ten minute lecture and take a test! Its kind of annoying if you just wanna get online and shoot something, but i thought it was kinda neat. There is also sniper training, airborne training ( which is cool because you actually have to make a succesful jump out of an airplane and excecute all the correct procedures you were taught), and special forces training. As you can see, its quite the little game. And better yet, its free, you can't beat that. Sure do wish there were bots though.........yep.

Ah, I see. I had gotten this game a while ago, but I didn't stick with it long enough to even finish the training course.

Heyyo,

I played it before it was ported to the Unreal Warfare engine, and I must say, it's one great freeware tactical-FPS. (YES, America's Army is free guys, get it if ya want ;))

No built-in official bots, you should spam them aboot that, lol...

It's harder than cs, more fair (no stupid semi-auto sniper rifle.. thank god...) and has some great upsides to it, my fav is when you died your gun would keep going off for a second there... it's like a hope for vengeance as you die... hehe! once I killed 2 badguys like that, the guy at the front was near death, the guy behind him I headshot... lol, I still pwn, even when I'm dead. :P

I won't write any bot for such game due to the obvious purpose of that game. period.
