podbot2.6mm
I think it's time to switch. In CS 1.5, i've used podbot 2.5 and it was good. Caused me little problems (minor problem with weapon behavior that couldn't be changed more than once, you had to completely exit CS and start a new server). CS 1.6 has gone through alot of updates and the developer has disappeared. IvPBot is very unstable, crashing my server for the n-th time already. (Random error in ivpbot.dll in the middle of a game, bots or no bots)
So let's take Pierre-Marie Baty's et. al advice and switch... :) Podbot even supports the shields. |
Re: podbot2.6mm
That's right. I don't want to advertise here, and I must admit that I never tried IvPBot, so I can't tell you if bots will be better / smarter / more human-like with PB 2.6mm. Judgement about these general issues is up to you guys who know what you are talking about, having tested both bots.
However, there are some things that are certain: - As redxii said, bots can use the shield - Bots can navigate doors with buttons properly - The dll runs VERY reliably - The bot is constantly being developed and improved - As it supports 1.6 and Valve probably won't ever release a version 1.7 (instead they continuously upgrade / patch 1.6 via Steam), you have a fair chance that you will be able to use PB 2.6mm for a comparably long time even if all ppl involved in its development should retire and nobody could be found to continue their work As I said, I don't want to advertise here, and once some ppl think about switching, I'd like to point out that it might be a good opportunity to test a totally different bot like JoeBot or RealBot - and if you find that you don't like them, you can still use PB 2.6mm. Whatever bot you decide to use, I wish you good luck with the switch! =) |
