New CS-maplist
Hi, have a look at the new CS-maplist at:
http://www.planethalflife.com/featur...s/csczhandson/ So that means some "all-time-classics" will not be part of the next CS-version: cs_747, cs_estate, as_oilrig, cs_backalley, de_survivor, de_train, cs_siege. What do you think, are these maps ready to leave CS? Time for new and fresh maps? (I hope the list on Planet-Halflife is right).8) |
Re: New CS-maplist
I liked cs_backalley... it was one of the rare tactical maps :(
I liked cs_747 as well, though rare were the people who were able to play it correctly :) It's a shame only the deathmatch maps remain... I wonder when they'll put fy_iceworld as an official CS map ? :D ah well, this day I swear I'll quit playing CS for EVER. |
Re: New CS-maplist
awp_map would be cool as an official cs map too ! ;D
|
Re: New CS-maplist
i liked cs_docks, they removed that a looong time ago. I sweared that too PMB... i think i should stop swearing. ;)

Re: New CS-maplist
*lol*
why not make a CS classic map pack. those default maps all where quite small or ? |
Re: New CS-maplist
This map pack exists and contains all the maps which have disappeared.
|
Re: New CS-maplist

Re: New CS-maplist
cs_docks ... yeah, that was a great map. There were discussions that it should reappear in some 1.x cs version, but it hasnt obiviously ...
maybe such settings are not political correct, maps like de_dust are by far better ;) |
Re: New CS-maplist
I never played cs_docks... should I?
|
Re: New CS-maplist
what a question !!! go go go and rock it ... it can be great for even only 2 players, but also for 12 ... fuckin' cool :D
|
Re: New CS-maplist
Yeah, he's right... cs_docks is a great map. But if you think that those old maps look a little bland, you might try cs_docks_01. It features basically the same structure, but with carefully improved design.
Another modification is cs_docks2k_winter, but in that map you can't rescue two of the hostages. Personally, I'd recommend cs_docks_01. N0TH1NG rulez! |
Re: New CS-maplist
i can't believe theyre getting rid of train. that's stupid. train is played a lot, yet they still get rid of it. gj valve.

Re: New CS-maplist
I don't get it. Some of those maps are great, It's weird. They mess up the classic maps such as inferno and aztec by modifying them but keep the same names forcing people to upgrade and overwrite the classic versions, they add new maps that no one plays because they're so laggy like um can't remember the names cuz I deleted them, now they remove some of the best maps available. Perhaps I just don't understand how these guys make their money because all I see are fewer CS players these days. Whatever they are doing ain't working as far as keeping the player counts up.
Sorry for the rant, just can't help myself sometimes. |
Re: New CS-maplist
I never understood the criteria for maps to become CS standards anyway. The higher the CS version got, the more questionable maps got included. Instead, many great custom maps will never make it into CS - and nobody knows why. Isn't de_scud_2k1 a lot better than de_storm or de_survivor?
And those modifications without changing map names ought to be forbidden anyway. It's ok to offer more alternatives, but why force people to upgrades nobody wants? >:( Heck, they could even provide the upgrade without any new maps and offer a bunch of them to download according to each person's choice. Aw, you know what? I think we're getting old... ;) |
Re: New CS-maplist
The maplist on Planethalflife was wrong. I´m very glad, look here:

Re: New CS-maplist
Well Botmeister, you are right, I have retired CS to LAN play ONLY, and skipped on the Steam, though I got the power to run it.
So I am staying on 1.5, heck I am even looking at the old 1.3 just for that jumpings sake, because back then, it was the true LAN days... Pardon my nostalgia. |
