Nostalgic

I was reading some (old) realbot posts and figured i actually do miss CS 1.6...

don't you guys have that nostalgic feeling? I don't have HL1 on my computer right now, but there is a high chance i will reinstall it and get CS 1.6 again

Just for the fun of it.

Re: Nostalgic

I have a CS 1.6 thats modded for using WON, not Steam. I'd link to it here, but the site also has a non-Steam Condition Zero for download.

Also, I'm not nostalgic, I still play it once every month or so.

I am nostalgic. Just not for 1.6 i play on an awsome server every now and then. I miss high school.

hey stef under your name you have some binary code. I am too lazy to figure it out but is it your name in binary or just some random 0's and 1's ?

Trust me you do not want to go back to cs 1.6.....,
I have still got it installed and play it on steam with friends, only to find almost on every server we play theres a cheator, then some of my friends think its a cheat contest and go and get their hacks out too.
I dont hack but usally leave as to being walled from the impossible.

I have a hankering for the original releases, they were more fun somehow.

Re: Nostalgic

I have bought new computer parts and finally got some things up and running. To be honest, when i see CSS now, i don't want to see CS 1.6 anymore ;)

Re: Nostalgic

CS:S is fun. but its a completly different gameplay than the other. i do like source better though.

Re: Nostalgic

Yea and the difference in gameplay would be that the hitboxes work alot better in CS:S lol :D

Re: Nostalgic

Rofl. Well the hitboxes in CSS are worse. I saw a demo where in CSS the models are actually precomputed already (in their movement), so thats why you see in spectator mode all those weird kills. Ow well, server-side its all ok. But on the client-side you somethings think that its crowded with cheaters...

Re: Nostalgic

you got to aim ahead in source.

Re: Nostalgic

Lol hell no I don't miss CS 1.6 and never will. CS 1.6 came long timer after my time in CS, so I still consider it as one of those new versions were they ruined the game.

Re: Nostalgic

i think CSS aint that bad. Its just getting used to a bit different aiming style. Apart from that, its just a more fancy CS.

Re: Nostalgic

yea I have checked out the hitbox compensation system.
Basicly its predicts ahead of the player but only gets hit in that area in the next second, hence lag prediction, so if you have seen that movie with the hitboxes visible and the person playing against bots, well that no longer works as I tried to get the same results and u cant on aim ahead on a listen server, yet to try getting another computer on my network to run a ded and turn on hitboxes and see if it works there.
