Game Development Camp 2005

If you are danish or nordic and love game development then you are quite lucky atm. This summer a Game Development Camp for 50 youngsters are being held at Aalborg University!

During this week you will get programming eduction for some hours and then the rest of the day you will work on a game together wit hthe other students.
The price for participating is low, only 250dkk(~40$).

Downside is that they already got way more applicants than they can take in.

I have already sent in my application as this is a great oppurtunity imo. I hope to see some of you there:)

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

you rather pronounce that å like an O ... well, not really, but almost. difficult to explain

ø is pronounced like the german ö afaik ( if you know that one :P )

HangFire 21-05-2005 23:27

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

Yeah but then "O" can be pronounced a whole lot of different ways depending on the word/language/accent.

Yep, that is a good explanation. And even from a Frenchman;)

not really frenchman. I lived ~21 years of my life ~200km south of the danish border :-)

Ohh yeah sorry, I mixed you up with PMB.

Exilibur 22-05-2005 23:13

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

I wouldn't stand for that kind of insult if I were you, aspirin! :P

btw PMB, the daniçh letters are nothing comparedent to the french worde-endingse! What is it with you peoples and then 3 or 4 letterse you just don'te preaunouncent??? :P

yeah, that's cool at school when "qu'est-ce que ce" counts as 5 words :P

von Ryan 22-05-2005 23:51

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

LOL! I remember the days when I thought that fenêtre was a difficult word :P

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

oh come on :D

and what about that german pathology of sticking words altogether with their adjectives ? makes german one of the scariest languages of the planet !

Hey, this was once a Game Development Camp thread!:D

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

Yes, but then this is BU. The thread topic is just a suggestion.

Or, we can just blame Pmb for bringing up the danglies on Nordic languages.

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

rofl. Yeah, but we should pay attention not to become known as "the forum where no thread is what it looks like in the first place" ;)

Exilibur 23-05-2005 23:36

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

Naaw... It's much more fun to open a topic just to find out that the topic of discussion is something far more exicting than originally planned.

@$3.1415rin 24-05-2005 15:56

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

but starting another thread for that topic wouldnt be a bad idea neither ... like we could do now to discuss about the threadtitlelessness in this forum

Exilibur 24-05-2005 17:13

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

then you'd miss the excitement of never knowing what a topic might be aabout before you open it! :P

and we'd get a lot of 3 post topics, which isn't very fun anyway...

But seriously though, i know it's annoying for somebody to open a topic about something, when the subject is changed almost immidiatly. It's just that, if the subject weren't changed, would the discussion about Game Development Camp have been going on still? I doubt it.

@$3.1415rin 24-05-2005 17:21

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

yep, but on the other side, nobody really can post something now about that danish GDC, since it won't fit absolutely in the context of the last posts any more ( ok, that's not a real reason on bu ... )

stefanhendriks 24-05-2005 19:55

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

well besides that. A GDC is cool. But a Danish one, well there are not a lot of folks close to that from here right?

I think we need another "amsterdam" ;) But also for 'non bot coders' just for the fun of it ... :D

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

yes, for sure. or a bigger 'octoberfest' although I guess that idea isnt that nice, since the hostel situation is pretty bad there at that time

HangFire 24-05-2005 21:58

Re: Game Development Camp 2005

Eventually one of these years when I can get to Europe for a vacation I'm going to make sure its Octoberfest time.
