star wars done, yes, spoilers
I watched it. Friends disagree, but i liked the begining, didn't like the next bits, movie brightened up a bit later. I won't say more -most people haven't watched it yet.

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Well it's neat...
More than the previous movies. I actually appreciate that this is a bit more dramatic than the other ones. The funny parts of the previous movies always annoyed the hell out of me. so all in all i think it's pretty neat. The scenes where darth vader get dressed are pretty cool. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Is this still going on. ??
*breath* *breath* *breath* Lucas stop resurecting me *breath* *breath* im old man *breath* let me rest *breath* |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
it was good, but I thought most of the movie, between the begining and the middle was one long comedy special.
|
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Comedy because they tried to make it funny or comedy as in it was so pathetic it was funny?
I thought that the new one was supposed to be darker, and a "bloodbath". |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
there's almost no blood at all... cause else the movie wouldn't get it's pg rating or whatever it has...
Or at least that's the feeling i get, but maybe that's because I just saw kill bill... which btw is a much greater movie than any of the star wars movies ever were. btw, anyone seen Der Untergang? (the downfall) That's the best movie I've seen this year... Seriously, it's awesome. So the point is: enough star wars talk already. They're not that good. Go see Der Untergang. |

At least from the trailer it looks like a great movie. I'll watch it this weekend. Edito: Star Wars 3 is the first SW to have a rating as high as PG-13, so I had heard that its supposed to be violent. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
I'm glad it's over. Perhaps they'll stop breaking my balls with that movies I did not and do not want to see. I hate all these movies pretending to show anything about the good and the evil.
*e* I'm talking about Star Wars, never seen the other one either. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
will definatly watch it, in a week or 6
|
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
i guess I wont watch it, somehow I couldnt see anything nice in the other 2 episodes. somehow just like lord of the rings, I even tried to read the book there, but I only could force me to read the first book. nice language though ( at least when you read it in english :D ), but somehow i couldnt stand it :P

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
The LOTR movies were brilliant, but all this whinging. What? You were expecting the meaning of life?? It's only a story you know.
Really. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
yep, it's only a story, but there are also stories out there I like to read :P
|

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
I saw it at the world premiere a few days ago:) It was for sure better than the two previous, but that don't tell much.
It was a shame that we did not see more of Natalie Portman's great talent. She was far better in the two others. I am not sure of how much I like the movie. It seemed very different from the other movies. It was more intense and there did not go many minutes without action. Also the side kicks and other non crucial stuff did not get much attention. In The phantom Menace they used a lot of time on Jar Jar Binks, pod racing, etc. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
well pod racing was the big chase sequence. Every movie has one.
|
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
I did not see the Untergang yet, but thanks for the suggestion !

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Well I don't really care what any one esle thought of the film since you are entitled to your own opinion, I thought it was a great end to tie up a great saga or whatever.
I sat for 2hours and a half and never tooks my eyes off the screen, okay there was agin cheesey scripted lines that the actors have no idea what to do with I think the original, the actors were of a much higher standard back then.) But I loved the intro, the fight scenes, R2-D2 ( about time they actually concentrated on what the story was meant to be following not the other characters). And the end I couldn't anything feel but helpless and sorrow as Anakin followes his destiny. Great story and can't wait to read the book. Only one question : Is mace windu still alive? Just like RotJ Is Boba Fett still alive?, he appears later in the books but it doesn't confirm it as him. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Just saw it last night.
I didn't particularily like it, it was an allright movie, but still nothing compared to episodes 4,5,6. Maybe the fact that me and buddies watched it alone and heckled the thing the whole time didn't help. |

I don't know, but it seems like Lucas doesn't understand how to express real people's feelings or emotions. CGI he can do better than anyone, but not people. The actors didn't help much either, but theres only so much you can do with some of those corny lines (several scenes had both me and my girlfriend groaning). End was kinda slow, but tied everything up. The whole reason why Anakin went to the dark side was kinda rushed and forced, you thought they would have played up his ego and dark ambitions more, instead of "doing it for love". Yoda was cool. :D |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
Heyyo,
Yes, I thought the basics of Anakin wanting to learn the dark side was good, but it diddn't really feel like it tied in well with him becoming evil.. I figured it would've been more like dath siduous mind controlling him or hypnotizing him to the dark side to do his bidding, cause lots of what he did afterwards did seem like he was brainwashed, but if I were him I wouldn't be brainwashed that easily I bet... |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
You can't knock Palpy in it though. Loved every moment of his performance.

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
To right, If he walked up to me in real life even without the force he is still scary, the make up artists did a really good job as well as the effects. He looks so close to the orig in RotJ

Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
I just saw it... Don't wanna comment right now, but in the trailers there was a movie that caught my attention... "War of the Worlds", based on that H.G. Wells novel. I dunno if that's the exact name in english... Seems to be pretty good...
|
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
It might be good, but then that can be said for any movie. I'm looking forward to it.
And then theres the Doom movie coming out later this year too, but then thats probably going to be awful just like every other game -> movie adaption. |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
only time will time LOL things could turn out slightly in our favor !!!!
the movie could have been alot worse .... way worse |
Re: star wars done, yes, spoilers
I didn't really like it too much..
fell asleep sometime when obiwan and anakin were fighting.. then woke up because that *&#%( was screaming too loud while giving birth :P it does tie the story together though.. [edit] the fighting looked really fake too.. and some parts lots of people in the theatre laughed but I didn't find it funny at all.. [/edit] |
