For metal fans: Megadeth vs Metallica
 

Just wanted to know what you think. I'm a guitar freak, I prefer punk rock but I also listen to metal. I didn't know Megadeth that much until recently. Looks like these dudes have an impressive discography, and the guitar riffs of Mustaine are defying the laws of anatomy. Though Metallica have done great themes too.

When I talk about Metallica I'm talking about their early albums (ie starting from Kill'Em All up to the black album, not included). They've become gay since.

So who's best ?

I don't like Heave Metal much...and didn't hear much from Megadeth. But early albums from Metallica are nice.

Sorry to be not much more helpful than the Metal ignoramuses above, but since I can't play an instrument for shit anyway, I can't really comment on that. I can only listen to music and say "me like this" or "me no like this", but I can't hear if a guitar riff is particularly difficult or revolutionary if it doesn't sound spectacular enough to catch my attention. I can only feel music, not analyze it. Oh well, better than the other way round, I guess. Some people can do both, but not me. 9_9

Early Metallica is better than Megadeth but newer Megadeth (& Peace Sells) is better than newer Metallica. Because after And Justice For All Metallica went gay.

I'm an Iron Maiden & Judas Priest fan myself. ;)

why isn't there anything like "no metal at all"...

i liked metallica. But it was in the so called 'gay days' of them. I also have black album which was fun. Now its catching dust.

Nah I like lsitening to metallica albums upto S&M minus loaded since I haven't got it yet. Saint anger was a let down, its not bad but its not very good either. As for other bands I reccomend/advise people check out slayer, Pantera, and Iron maiden on the side. These bands are still going trong in the heavy metal section, at I think so. :D
So check em out, and laugh at mini-moshers(people who think wearing certain trendy clothes makes them who they are), and in general ignore NEDs with their stupid comments: Look at all those computers' man... (a bunch of apple macs in one room = alot of pcs ???)

Some of their live records are gigantic (Hallowed Be Thy Name anyone?). Are they still touring? They must be quite old by now...

I don't like megadeth. I used to, but the music doesn't interest me anymore. I feel kinda the same way with metallica. Actually it's kinda sad. I think I'm getting soft!

I mean, I'm sitting here listening to Kent - Våpen & Ammunition for the 342th time. It's awesome, but it's terribly soft and poppy, and I'm getting all confused about what good music really is.

At least I'm attending to system of a down's concert in copenhagen here in june... that might bring me on the right track again. I think it's gonna be fun.

Yes they are, i'm seeing them at Ozzfest in August. Seeing Judas Priest in June too, i recommend you give them a listen to as well as what Lethal suggested. :D
