Re: best conspiracy theory evah

love it. At first, it 'sounds' plausible.

But apart from that, it does not really explain the tsunami as a 'man made' event.

Its just so nice to see how people just have too much time and need to explain things differently then 'the media'.

that was a good read :D

Oh how i love conspiracy theories... I really like the idea of this one, but i think he lacks some proof... I mena the moon hoax has a lot more proof to argue from... his theories are mainly based on the earthquakes profile, which is probably fairly easi to explain.

I hadn't enough patience to read it, but the bomb for blowing that german dam is quite interesting...

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

well THAT did happen, for a fact, but it has nothing really to do with some nuke blowing up to make an earthquake.

(i did a quick read, perhaps i did not understand the whole theory, but come on, a tsunami of that magnitude, by a NUKE? no way)

when I heard about the tsunami, I was saying jokingly to my parents : "hey, let's wait until bush declares war on some country because he has proof that some terrorist blew off a nuke inside the deep sea vulcanic activity zone" LOL, and now one reads that :P

Same here. All that word thinkin' makes me brain sore. I looked at the bomb pictures though, they were nice.

that was funny..
a nuke causing a tsunami..
then he asks for donations at the bottom :D
must be someone in need of some income..

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

I thought some people would point it out, but a nuke causing a tsunami is perfectly possible and logical. Look :)

The most devastating nuke ever launched in the atmosphere was done during a H bomb test by the communists, it was about 60 kiloton TNT equivalent. But even at that time the bomb's power had been artificially limited (because of obvious residual radiation and uncontrollable side-effect issues). The nominal power of that bomb, i.e. if it had been launched at full power, was 150 kiloton in fact, which is more than twice as much. Keep in mind that the Nagasaki bomb was 10 times less powerful than this one.

Nowadays the nukes power count up in megatons. That means at least 100 times bigger than the Nagasaki blast. A single nuke in the atmosphere from any of the nuclearized nations (France for example) if launched at nominal power would bust a capital city in twelve seconds, and the residual dust would spread in the atmosphere and start a "nuclear winter" around a half of the planet.

What causes the devastating power of a nuke is 1°) the heat and 2°) the blow. 3°) would be the residual radiations eventually. BUT, the blow of an atmospheric bomb actually hitting the target is a FRACTION of its original power, because the air is a COMPRESSIBLE MATERIAL. A majority of the initial power is dissipated in the atmosphere. it's like if you wrapped a grenade in 3 meters thick foam.

Water, on the other hand, is an uncompressible material.
This is why bombing a dam with air-ground missiles has little effect, whereas bombing it from deep water is lethal, because the explosion blast cannot be dissipated, thus applying its forces entirely on the dam itself.

What is the best way to test a nuke nowadays? Underground. France has dug kilometers deep holes to bury its nukes in Mururoa in 1995. And the nukes tested were NOT the most powerful nukes in the world.

There are nukes in this world that are so powerful that they have NEVER been tested. One of them, a multimegaton, dropped in the oceanic floor, in deep water ? Able to cause a tsunami everyday Stefan. Word.

*edit*

That said, I am NOT advocacing the theory of this guy, I am just saying it is possible.

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

Despite the power of a nuke, i still do not think a tsunami can be created by this force. Why? Because an earthquake , which i firmly believe, causes WAY more damage (and needs WAY more power). Also, a nuke has 80% of its forces away from the ground. Ie, it goes UP/ Sideways. Which will NOT do that much to water as when a sudden shift goes on the surface (earthshift/quake). So it causes tons of water to shift all of a sudden, to cause a wave like that.

I am not convinced ;)

biohazerd87 06-02-2005 22:22

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

it is very unlikley the actaully bomb could create the wave...... but the reactions from the explosions could cause a tsunami, IE if the nuke was sent to near the bottom of the ocean near the techtonic plates it could create enough force to have a small earthquake creating a wave
... and no i am not saying i belive the consperacy cause it is the dumbest shit ever lol

sPlOrYgOn 06-02-2005 23:01

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

well it might beable to cause the tsunami.. I think..
but we don't see any after effects of a nuke in the water yet..
and we'll probably never see any since this article is fake :)

von Ryan 06-02-2005 23:25

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

If it was indeed a nuke, then there would be a load of dead fish floating around the surface of the water, and that would have been in the news... Think about it

that is wrong, friend. Any explosion, be it caused by a nuke or not, dispatch its forces in all directions in equal proportions.

You may be thinking that because of the cloud. Do not confuse. When the cloud starts to appear, the blast is already kilometers away from the epicenter. The mushrooom-shaped cloud you see with nukes is caused by the heat which creates a vacuum phenomenon. Because hot air... goes up :)

In 1951 (if I remember right) the Americans tested the effects of H bombs on their own militaries. Here are 3 pics of soldiers from the 1st battalion of the 188th para. They were given orders to go prone before the blast and to stand up once it had passed.

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

he is right... the thing about a nuclear explosion is that it has more than 1 phase... first there is the imense heat... which will pretty much vaporize anything... then there is the actaul shock wave which isn't that damaging it is just really fucking loud. then the 30 km/sec(a hundred times the speed of sound in normal air) winds rushing away from the explosion... and the lack of air near the explosion creats another vacume sucking all the air back at 150 MPH (or higer). Oh and don't forget about all the radiation and long term effects... oh and the huge ass whole in the ground

i belive in an early test of a nuclear weapon they used a small unihabbitied island to test it on.. yeah it removed the island.. no i am not joking the island is gone

i have also read some cool stories about people who flew in airplanes and filmed the explosion from the air... they wear special gogles so they don't go blind.. and this guy forgot to put them on so a second before the explosion he put his hand over his eyes and when the bomb exploded the X-Rays from the explosion passed thru his hand and he could see the bones in his hand

sPlOrYgOn 07-02-2005 04:24

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

lol thats even more funny.. humans can't see x-rays..

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

bio is right, it was the bikini atoll. The island was vaporized by a 15 megaton TNT equivalent nuke, officially the biggest nuke tested in the United States. It caused the whole island to sink 20 meters below the ground, sinking a dozen US ships in the same time.

Do you REALLY think the US were (and would still be) satisfied with those 15 megaton nukes, whereas in the same time the communists were testing 60 MEGATON TNT/eq nukes under the direction of Andrei Sakharov that were at the same time limited, their nominal power being 150 mega fuckin tons untested, i.e. TEN TIMES bigger than the US bomb that sunk bikini ? Do you really think the US stopped all nuclear tests at 15 megatons in... 1951 ?

HangFire 07-02-2005 05:30

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

I fail to see the reasoning behind nuclear arms development past that. What were the mega tonnage for the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Those were devastating enough to force Japan into either surrendering, or face a complete massacre of their country.

Seriously, we as a species aren't bright enough to handle with the weapons we're building. Its like giving a few 6 year olds some shotguns and sending them out to play in the backyard.

I felt the need to resurrect this :D

for those who can read french
http://www.jp-petit.com/TSUNAMI/poissons_abysses.htm
for the others, use a translator, I will just translate the main information: heaps of fish from the abysses have died and ran aground on the beaches in the Indian Ocean just after the tsunami. The scientists fail to understand why, as an earthquake shock wave isn't short enough to be felt like a blast that would be able to kill thousands of fishes at these depths.

Actually, the Soviet test bomb Tsar Bomba was capable of 100 Megatons, but was limited to ~50 megatons, according to Russian sources.

It would take something like 320 full force Tsar Bomba's to equal the energy released by a 9.0 Richter scale earthquate - click here for the energy release estimate.

Joe Vialls is indeed entertaining to say the least. Joe actually has made some accurate predictions. I remember when there was all the flag waving going on about the easy "mission accomplished" in Iraq, Joe wrote one of his entertaining reports about what he thought would happen. While many of us knew that there was going to be no easy "mission accomplished" in Iraq, Joe managed to predict very closly how the resistance movement would rise up, and how it would be an effective fighting force.

In any case, Joe Vialls should be considered as a fiction writer only.

If you want to read up on more the more serious and plausible "conspiracy theories" I suggest that you go here WhatReallyHappened.com. If you like to debate issues, or read up on a whole range of topics go here Liberty Forum. Some of the people who post are very well informed, while others are probably insane or working for the other side, if you know what I mean. o_O

botmeister 03-03-2005 22:45

Re: best conspiracy theory evah

I should add that the Tsar Bomba was built in 1961, so perhaps there are bombs much more powerfull that could be built today. However, the physics of nuclear bombs remains static, so I'm not sure that a modernized version could do much better than what was done 40 years ago, unless there's another kind of physics involved.

In any event, one would suspect that had a nuclear bomb been used, a whole lot of radiation would of been detected by now.

It should be remembered that 9 on the scale is not simply more than 8, it is multiples of.

That Joe Vialls bloke, really, you know many people could and did make very accurate predictions about the state in Iraq. I did, as did many an expatriot who has lived out there. So did the information minister -people laughed at him because it was his job to back the country no matter how ridiculous the story, but he said it right.

Hey Leagle I remember you from Nukebox, right?

What's fun is going back in there and reading the old posts, almost all of what the "felons" said about the Iraq invasion ended up getting exposed as the truth - yup that's what we got harrased for, telling the truth.

I did some more digging on the Tsar Bomba. It's an amazing story, read it here

Yes, I think I recognise your name, but not from where. I joined in the period Stefan announced his idea, and I followed it up. I left nukebox and returned sporadically when realbot got its own sites.

That made an interesting read.
