Tigger is 14!
Ya ya: Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting
My cat turned 14 sometime around Christmas. Here is a picture of her: http://img116.exs.cx/img116/5271/tiggertjeb9qf.jpg |
Re: Tigger is 14!
What a coincidense... I just picked a new cat up today. A little furry norwegian cat, that has been running around for 5 hours straight now... I'm wondering if it'll ever get tired.

Re: Tigger is 14!
Ah. Tigger wasn't that active when we got her. She had to be fed through an eye-drop dispenser, as she was very small. We got her just after Christmas. Now she's older she doesn't get very hyper anymore.
Sometimes her fur is redder, but she is usually that camoflauged grey pattern, with black spots. Not a true domestic cat actually. [Kudos to the first person to correctly guess the breed.] |
Re: Tigger is 14!
your can looks like it needs some exercise :D
|
Re: Tigger is 14!
Lol, not really. This type of cat is quite long, here she is sort of "squashed up".
|
Re: Tigger is 14!
Sure looks 14. Most cats I've had don't live that long due to their own stupidity. Only one ever lived to be ancient like yours, but it was run over or eaten by a coyote or something last summer.

Re: Tigger is 14!
Hahaha... If you refer to the grey colouring, that is natural. Like I said, kudos to they-who-name the breed.
She does sleep more now though, and unless excited is rather more sedate. Here is another one, Courtesey of ImageShack for Free Image Hosting http://img44.exs.cx/img44/3580/tigger2small6kh.jpg Like I said, Name that cat! |

Re: Tigger is 14!
I have a male dark tabby named Artemis, and a dark tortishell named Anabell. They are both short hair.
Note: only female cats can have 3 colors. Tortishells can only be female. Also, if you look at black cats in the sunlight, you will see that they are black and really dark brown, striped like a tabby. Also, for those who love all things cute, http://www.clean-your-screen-for-free-now.com. |

Re: Tigger is 14!
my cat Charlie had three colours, if you can call it that... White, ginger and dark ginger. He was a year older than me, until he died - in my arms - a couple of years ago aged 19.

Re: Tigger is 14!
I had a dog that was put down at 16. My parents brought it with them from Trinidad. That was a sad year. I went to bording school, wherupon my gran died and my dog got put down. It was around that time that my other gran's alzheimers got bad too.
Since nobody's really guessing anymore, I'll give you another hint. Africa. |
Re: Tigger is 14!
my guess is it`s either a somali or a serengeti breed.
|
Re: Tigger is 14!
Not exactly, but they would be found there, especially the serengeti. In fact, "still to be found in most parts of the continent with the exclusion of the true desert areas around the Sahara and the central African rain forests belt. The species also extends up to the Arabian Peninsula, where it can be found in most coastal regions away from the dessert heartland."
The map they provided was not all that accurate. We lived in an area where they were more common, and where there was a sort of local midget-breed as well as the normal ones. I therefore prefer this description. "Habitat They will be found in virtually any type of habitat so long as there is enough food and cover They are not found in desert areas" |

Re: Tigger is 14!
Uhhh, domestic short hair?
Brown tabby? |
Re: Tigger is 14!
dub, you are dedicated, so I won't tell you outright. The Ocicat is very cute btw. Start from that.
The soles of Tigger's paws are black. Tigger is not sociable with respect to other animals. Tigger has red ears. And last, but not least: I gave a major hint in my 1st reply to this thread. [edit] This is not the same, but shows very similar patterns. Judging by the description, methinks these people have not seen cats outside of a show. "nowhere else in nature" my arse. http://www.catsofaustralia.com/bengal.htm |
Re: Tigger is 14!
Meh, just guess the species then.
|
Springy tail
According to everyone's favourite wiki, your cat's species is Felis silvestris. Do I win a prize?

Re: Tigger is 14!
I was shutting up because I couldn't find the term, but that wiki taught me it, thanks Hangie :P
"alley cat" I have 2 of these lap warmers at home. |

Mine likes to wait till you move, then steal your seat. Very annoying at the dinner table.
The question amused me to no end, especially since I basically told you in my first reply.;) |
