Oktoberfest 2004
Hey hey hey guys and gals (umm... any gals here ? :| :D)
Question! WHERE will you be around the 20 september ? (from the 18th and the week after to be exact) WOULD some of you by chance attend the Oktoberfest in Munich this year ? c'mon! I will :P It's the biggest drinkorama in the world, endless nights, crowds of drunk meat and tasteful beer.... hmmmm beeeer!!!!!!! howdya want I miss that ? 8) We'll arrive by train on the 18 at Munich, don't know which time of the day yet and in which station in case there would be several, cause the tickets are not yet bought but that's a matter of days ;) So if by any chance you want to move your ass for a bit of holiday MUNICH WILL BE THE PLACE TO BE SoUlFaThEr I want you to get your butt there cause as you said we HAVE to meet :D Aspirin, Stefan, Killaruna, how about lads ? Onno ? (well I already know you'll be there cause you told me so yesterday on IRC but here's the formal invitation :D) And all the others ! (provided you've got the majority in your pocket and that you're all ready for a few nights of muthafuckinbadass party) Let's exchange the intents and arrange some sort of meeting there ! For now I'll say goodbye and seeya next week, cause tomorrow morning I leave again for another week of fiesta. This weekend the fiesta is in Bayonne until tuesday and tuesday night it moves to Dax (50 kms further), we'll be following it !!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWw P.S. nova, I worry for you... I'm sure you will be bored as hell during all this time hehehehehehehe :P |

We were supposed to be only 2 to come but another bloke from my town wants to join in. Probably by train too. SoUlFaThEr how come I haven't seen you posting something here yet ? do I need to send you a PM ? ;) Onno ? Other people ? we HAVE to meet some people there... what a shame if we couldn't |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
dunno yet if I can be there ... but i'll post something as soon as I know
|
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
IM THERE !!!!!!!!!!! i just hoper i dont get irate and smack the fuck out of someone there.....its my only fear that i must use my Batman skillz on some drunk retarded loud asshole.
only thing is........how the fuck will we meet up? you come in by train...yeah well me tooo........we must meet at the bahnhof......... how will we sleep? i dont have cash for a hotel...thats the hang up.........the train and a few beers i can pay but......... |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
yeah, meeting point "am Bahnhof" by default... :)
We don't know where to sleep either... we'll probably be carrying our sleeping bags with us and sleeping somewhere in the streets -- unless someone has a better idea. I don't know Munich nor the Oktoberfest at all but I suspect this must be possible - a bit hardcore, granted, but we aren't afraid of that :D Does the train station have lockers ? |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
the trainstation will surely have lockers.......pay to use them
oktoberfest is like organised crime.......beer prices are unreal high...so it wont be a long stay on my behalf.......im a poor person.......sleeping bag........well........ok, i dont fear that either.....i just dont like the idea of going back to the bahnhof to a locker, to get my sleeping bag.while fucked up drunk :) hehe |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
argh, a slight uncertainty here. The thing is that 2 of the blokes who were supposed to come are important members of the local soccer club and there is a stupid tournament match on sunday 19 --- well, PROBABLY, these retards aren't even sure yet :D. What turns out is that already one of the lads can't come anymore, and the other one would prefer coming on monday 20 after the match. Grrrr.
We'd arrive either the 18 or the 20, then. The one who will come is gonna see that tomorrow and set the date for the train once and for all. After that we'll need to agree on the time at which we'll meet and how we'll recognize each other, but that won't be a big problem I think :) will you be there too finally, Aspirin ? to the german-speaking people : can one of you phone to the train station in Munich and ask confirmation that they have lockers and that we can use them ? it's not that obvious, cause here in France for example, because of terrorism people can't use the lockers anymore in public areas... we wouldn't want to discover the same thing once there :) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
I just checked Munich's official homepage, and in an article about lockers they say that in Munich's Main Station and East Station there are short-time and long-time lockers available, short time meaning max. 3 days and long-time min. a month. They come in three sizes, small, medium and jumbo. The small one (short-time) costs 1 Euro for 24 hours, the medium one 1.50 Euro and the large one 2 Euros for 24 hrs.
If you don't want to use lockers for some reason, apparently there's a service where they will take and guard your stuff for you, but it costs 2.05 Euro per piece of luggage and per day. I might be able to get a map of the station - if you want it, let me know. ;) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
thx... ummm, yeah - why not :)
|
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
Okay, we have the tickets... finally we'll arrive the 20 (monday) around 19h13 (7:13PM) at München HBF, that's the station which is the most in center of town, if I remember well. We're planning to stay until the next saturday. More information tomorrow...
*edit* BTW, TruB, were you serious when you said you were going to come ? You can sure do, the more the merrier ! :D |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
I wanna go but my income wont allow me rofl i have always wanted to go to german i love thier culture
|
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
yo Pierre, now that i know when yer coming, i have book a way down there for a measly 11.50€. awesome deal :)
i will be leaving nuenberg at 15:30.......it should take 2 to 2 1/2 hours so i may be arriving a bit later than you at the bahnhof. The guy thats taking me has a transporter so its not a BMW ripping up the autobahn. best would be to stay at the main train station there until i arrive.....and then we can get the party started :) carry a sign that says PODBOT2.6 so i knew who to look for :) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
you better gotta get there or I break into your house and drag you there by kicking you in the butt :D j/k
München HBF at 19h13 for us. Is there a meeting point in this station ? A macdonalds perhaps ? *edit* lol w00t cool you come after all :D okay, now question is, what will the weather be like in München next week ? Cos if it's cold or overcast or rainy I'll carry my scary hat and you cannot miss me ;) Else if it's warm/sunny I'll have some geek T-shirt probably... anyway I'll post photos of me + the clothes I'll wear so that you'll know what to look for :) good thing if we had one too... *edit 2* a pic of you, I mean btw, you said someone's taking you there, so I assume you bring friends with you ? how many will you be ? :) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
im being simply dropped off somewhere in munich. i will then have to find my way to the hauptbahnhof. There is surely one McDonalds there but meeting at a specific track number is even more specific :) we meet at track 10, at 20:00-20:30 (im not even sure if i can make it there then....the guy will surely be slow).
It's not a friend I am bringing....I am going to meet one :) i will have to ride back on wednesday tho man.....so its 2 nights of party and im gone :) i dont know what the weather will be like next week and i dont have a up-to-date pic of myself. ill carry a sign that says GURU Mappage:) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
Hey, Joe is just telling me through email that he'll be around too :) w00t
anyway... is there some website of some sort that would tell us what's the weather for next week around Munich ? other people ? |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
Well, it's all in German... I just had a quick peek and until Monday, Sep 27, the weather is supposed to be more or less the same: 4-10° C at night (getting colder), between 16 and 18° C by day. Only slightly cloudy, and the rain risk doesn't rise above 10% during these days, according to that forecast.
|
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
sounds good except for the night temperature
are you doing a sleeping bag overnight pierre? |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
yeah. We'll be in town, so the temps are usually a bit warmer near the ground. And we'll have a "survival blanket", you know that thing we carry around in raids and such, so if we are to sleep on some wet ground, we can... we never know anyway.
I'm loading the digicam, it was at flat. Then I'll post a nice pic of my ass so that you can't miss it :P Aspirin, any news by your side ? |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
just looking up train connections ...
fine, one train going all the way from heidelberg to munich without the need to change train ... 3 hours of travelling though and you guys wanna arrive there at monday evening, 20-20:30 at track 10 is definite meeting point ? I won't take much stuff with me I guess, just being there for a night and a day, I still gotta learn for my math exams ( once again :) ) and I guess one week of munich would be too much ;) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
I'm not fond of that "track 10" idea... the track may be very long and very crowded, or even the track numbers might not count up to 10, what to do then ?? :D
I'd prefer another idea, like, there must be shops or something, or cafés, or a McDo like in Amsterdam. Is there a map of the station somewhere on the net ? rrrraaaahh I'm upset, I digicammed myself but I can't find the cable to plug the camera with the puter now !! searching for 2 hours grrrrrrrrrrrrr |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
the tracks arent really that crowded, only when trains arrive ... that shouldnt be a problem ...
and about "long" ... I think that train station is just on one niveau ( sackbahnhof ) i.e. the trains dont go thru it. so we could meet at the end of that track .... that's just a small area ... |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
meet at track 10...there will be a track 10.......theres 30 at least !!!
peace ..........Guru |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
hey pierre, going to munich with the EC67 ? cause that's arriving at 19:13 at track 17 ??? .... I could take that train as well, would be joining you at Bruchsal
|
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
I don't know which train it is... ah wait, yes, it's written down there on the ticket. Train 67, wagon 260, seat 58 (:D but you know how it is, I'll most probably be elsewhere but on this seat in that train)
OK for track 10, end of track :) I couldn't find the cable for the camera :( No pic of meh Anyway, I'll wear a black hat and a black long coat, I look like some sort of evil cowboy :D you can't miss me. |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
that reminds me of amsterdam ... CF and me were joking who you were. just for fun we said : "look, that weirdo with black clothes and that black hat over there, hahahaha" ...
ok, maybe I'll also go by EC67 there ... |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
