I have that problem. I think it is caused by when the engine autosaves.

Looks like, but it's not too bad. I just beat the game today, it was definately good, story line's more confusing than HL1, that's for sure. :P

Yeah, and it's not like Snatch, I don't see how if I replay it I'll pickup some part of the story I missed. I've never heard of Gordon's administrator guy until Alyx mentioned him... and the Conbines? same deal, no real build up to them, they just appear and apparently own the place. It's almost like HL is like, a movie for rich entrepreneurs who rule the world, cause they apparently have better technology and can freeze time and stuff, whilst giving us basic teleportation technology n' stuff... This game's deep dude, real deep, and confusing...

Look at the headlines on the newspapers in Dr. Eli Vance's laboratory. You will see references to a 6(?) HOUR war. Might have been 7 or 8. And you will see some info about Dr. Breen.
