Re: HL2 Release!!!

to clear it up these are the system requirements for HL2 according to Prima

Supported OS: Windows XP/ME/2000/98
Processor: 1.2 GHz
RAM: 256 MB
Video Care: 3D accelerator card
Sound Card: Windows Compatable sound device
DirectX Version: DX7 graphics card or better
Hard Drive Space: 3GB

note that the misspelled words are not primas fault i am too lazy to check the spelling

and yes this means you have to update from the 386 you are using

And yeah, I'm sure if it wasn't legal www.planethalflife.com wouldn't have it on their news posts. ;)

The HL2World Forums was where many of the HL2 leak Mappers would go to discuss their mapping issues and custom maps for CS:S beta, which was supposed to be illegal. However, now that CS:Source and the official Hammer are out, you can't really tell if a map was made with the Hammer leak or the legal version. So it seems many of the major sites have let this slide now and HL2world could prove to be a valuable resource to mappers, despite the many warez using members...

RAM: 256 MB
Video Care: 3D accelerator card
Sound Card: Windows Compatable sound device
DirectX Version: DX8 graphics card
Hard Drive Space: 3GB+

I think this is the first HL2 mod so far.

http://www.filespace.ru/Games/Half-L...Thing.rar.html

Found a link to this on a Hungarian HL site. Its in Russian, so heres what the fish has to say about it.

The modes of in no way large, it consists of ya-ekh of maps (3- small of map and 1 large). To pass it to you will not compose large labor, I think the maximum of 30 minutes of play time, but that is less. A little about the subject: You certainly call Gordon Freeman you you work not known at what plant in the laboratory which it is located on levels and they suddenly to you report that at level 2 it occurred what that emergency, and you they request about the aid, in reality at level 4 (zasekrechenyy sector, guarded by soldiers) occurred unsuccessful experiment, and as a result for the freedom was pulled out the &.tsuot;NEccTO&.tsuot itself;. And here you as the respectable worker of this ill-starred plant go on you pomosh' into the shop of №2. well and then it went it went, on the way you meet everyone to nechest' which it were escape from the underground laboratories, as a result not of successful experiment. By the way at the end you will see that peasant himself which all this it did devise, to me it is very it's a pity? but you will not be able to kill this evil uncle.

So its four single player maps, about a half-hour of play time.

Heyyo,

I just bought HL2 at Zellers for $79.77 CDN, and I feel ripped offf... NO MANUAL... just a "quick reference card." But at least this game will make up for that with gameplay n' what not. :D

Re: HL2 Release!!!

That for sure. No manual, and no jewel cases, just those useless paper sleeves.

Re: HL2 Release!!!

There has been a MP minimod of HL2!
I have it, but havn't got it working yet...
no time...
here's the link though:
http://www.hl2files.com/file/HalfLif...Mini_Mod;33099
It's a mini mod with 2 maps. A physgun map and a deathmatch style map. neither of which are very good. I'm thinking of converting my current project, he_city, for HL2MP.
Also, there are a ton of planned mods listed, many of which have their sites hosted by hl2files.com

Re: HL2 Release!!!

I have had a chance to play the copy of that friend of mine, on my pc... using his account on steam and such.

I noticed graphically it could run smooth with the recommended settings by steam, though it chuckles! It looks like its something loading once in a while.

So, the gameplay sux kinda in that way. I dunno how to fix that, i mean, i have even more ram than 'dead bwoy'.?

Perhaps i have to turn down some other programs running on background, though i tried shutting down a few, it still chuckled on me.
