looks very similiar to Metamod...

cool @ UA :D

my question
Quote:

At start you try to catch as less network messages as possible. Doing some loops and check out the entity state of the Hl engine, updating your own entity list. Thats fair and thats logical imo.

Later on i see all engine messages (yet in a bit different name)....

so , how come? did the principle fail? Or did something else make it like this?
basicly thats it. At first i see principle A and then principle B... ;) so , my question is, why did it change? Or, is there simply no other way?

because it's still a BETA... I'm working on removing as many network messages as possible... but please don't consider this a finished product ;)

(note: I know I already made my point clear since our MSN chat... but I'm posting this for the others)

i am glad we have the same ideas about the bot architecture, it also makes the understanding and anticipation a lot easier on specific parts of the bots code.

as long as you haven't released anything final, i will work on my own template :)

and the bad thing is that we can't change the name of dll in liblist.gam for the HL2 engine, the name is hardcoded as "bin\server.dll"

Steam HL has a -dll option to load dll's
Atleast that's how i load shrikebot. no liblist.gam editing.

Don't know if this option is available in Steam HL2.
If it is then no need to bother to edit the liblist.gam.

"-dll dlls/dllname.dll" in the command line does the trick

Re: hehehehe

it is not needed to load the bot dll instead.... HL2.exe offers a metamod style engine, you can directly hook up your 'plugin'...
