Re: FreeBSD...

i honestly think that hitler did what he did because he thought it was for the best of manking (or the pure arial race or whatever)... I like the comparison, not because it's justified, but because I'm generally pissed at ms for msn7, which is bloatware filled with commercials. But anyway, i've downloaded trillian, and now I'm feeling much better... thanx trillian.

Re: FreeBSD...

trillian is almost as bloated as MSN, if you want an advice you should get Miranda...

Anyway, as for the Hitler/Bill Gates issue, I think that comparison should not be made anyway. Hitler was promoting an ideology. Saying the same of Bill Gates is insulting, and not only for him. I suppose you see my point.

Re: FreeBSD...

and comparing both might also neglect to a certain extend the crimes hitler has committed, which'd be a crime itself in germany afaik. B.Gates hasnt killed millions of ppl.

Re: FreeBSD...

well, THAT was my point.

yes. The whole ideology stuff is not what it is about. Its about the crimes....

I suggest this is the last thing said about this issue ;). Never compare Hitler with anyone that has NOTHING to do with warfare or other brutal historic events.

Yes I liked the previous topic more :)

Anyway sound works better now; needed to set the buffersize bigger.

@PMB:
know any csh tricks? or is bash better :P

Re: FreeBSD...

I'm with bash all the time, mostly because I like the default settings and I don't want to take the time to dig into a painful config. But I've head that csh is more powerful indeed.

This is indeed a great thread. Quite a bunch of chicks and quite a bunch of topics in one topic:)

Yes, you say FreeBSD and you get: pictures of tux/beastie, the game xtux, BSD/Linux chicks and even a discussion about Billie and Hitler.
Quite unique :)

Re: FreeBSD...

csh is actually not POSIX-compliant and also lacks some "modern" features. however it's smaller and it's the original BSD shell

esr seems to have that picture removed, it's originally linked at the "Microsoft-only future" word in this page:
