Re: Yet another realbot server
just a question, does anyone have a big server (many plugins) with amx (i need menus) under linux .
if so i would realy like to know which system (glibc 2.2 or 2.3 is used) since i fail with most plugins on my glibc 2.2 systems. and upgrading the glibc is unfortunately not possible (i run many self compiled servers on those boxes). cheers memed (for me work metamod from BU/RB, amx 0.9.8 beta, cheating death and realbot wip#9. oh and hpb bot. most other mods/plugins and even some bots do fail, some due to different gcc's use, some due to glibc 2.3 beeing used) |
Re: Yet another realbot server
I do :D.
glibc 2.3 installed because of the highperformance AMX version a few month ago. Plugins: Code:

Re: Yet another realbot server

As I told quite often ;) I'm using a Debian system. Installing the glibc 2.3 was easy once I figured out it's package name. The Debian software installation utility apt-get resolves all depencencies automatically and installed updated version of the installed software if it's neccessary. You simply don't have to worry about it! 8) And there havn't been many updates installed besides the new glibc 2.3 library as I remember. In theory it should also be possible to have two different versions installed at the same time. But here it comes to theory vs practice - I havn't done with the glibc at linux only with other libraries and un*xes 9_9: You can set an environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH which contains the search path for dynamic link libraries, e.g. "/usr/local/glibc23-lib/". The dynamic linker searches at this path for libraries before the other system library paths. But you should read http://www.visi.com/~barr/ldpath.html carefully before you do this! |
Re: Yet another realbot server
*g* when i started my test server debian was an old "potatoe" so i choose readhat 7.0, which i upgraded to 7.3 and since then by hand, so i can't just run an autoupdate :-)
but good to know that they can coexist |
Re: Yet another realbot server
now running condition zero server with 8 csbots with metamodx. check it out, hopefully it wont crash, i need to make it a system service again.
