We were supposed to be only 2 to come but another bloke from my town wants to join in. Probably by train too. SoUlFaThEr how come I haven't seen you posting something here yet ? do I need to send you a PM ? ;) Onno ? Other people ? we HAVE to meet some people there... what a shame if we couldn't |

Re: Oktoberfest 2004
yeah, meeting point "am Bahnhof" by default... :)
We don't know where to sleep either... we'll probably be carrying our sleeping bags with us and sleeping somewhere in the streets -- unless someone has a better idea. I don't know Munich nor the Oktoberfest at all but I suspect this must be possible - a bit hardcore, granted, but we aren't afraid of that :D Does the train station have lockers ? |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
the trainstation will surely have lockers.......pay to use them
oktoberfest is like organised crime.......beer prices are unreal high...so it wont be a long stay on my behalf.......im a poor person.......sleeping bag........well........ok, i dont fear that either.....i just dont like the idea of going back to the bahnhof to a locker, to get my sleeping bag.while fucked up drunk :) hehe |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
argh, a slight uncertainty here. The thing is that 2 of the blokes who were supposed to come are important members of the local soccer club and there is a stupid tournament match on sunday 19 --- well, PROBABLY, these retards aren't even sure yet :D. What turns out is that already one of the lads can't come anymore, and the other one would prefer coming on monday 20 after the match. Grrrr.
We'd arrive either the 18 or the 20, then. The one who will come is gonna see that tomorrow and set the date for the train once and for all. After that we'll need to agree on the time at which we'll meet and how we'll recognize each other, but that won't be a big problem I think :) will you be there too finally, Aspirin ? to the german-speaking people : can one of you phone to the train station in Munich and ask confirmation that they have lockers and that we can use them ? it's not that obvious, cause here in France for example, because of terrorism people can't use the lockers anymore in public areas... we wouldn't want to discover the same thing once there :) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
I just checked Munich's official homepage, and in an article about lockers they say that in Munich's Main Station and East Station there are short-time and long-time lockers available, short time meaning max. 3 days and long-time min. a month. They come in three sizes, small, medium and jumbo. The small one (short-time) costs 1 Euro for 24 hours, the medium one 1.50 Euro and the large one 2 Euros for 24 hrs.
If you don't want to use lockers for some reason, apparently there's a service where they will take and guard your stuff for you, but it costs 2.05 Euro per piece of luggage and per day. I might be able to get a map of the station - if you want it, let me know. ;) |
Re: Oktoberfest 2004
thx... ummm, yeah - why not :)

Re: Oktoberfest 2004
Okay, we have the tickets... finally we'll arrive the 20 (monday) around 19h13 (7:13PM) at München HBF, that's the station which is the most in center of town, if I remember well. We're planning to stay until the next saturday. More information tomorrow...
*edit* BTW, TruB, were you serious when you said you were going to come ? You can sure do, the more the merrier ! :D |
