Word! I've been virus-free as long as I can think, virtually spam-free as long as I have mail (ca. 20 spam mails in 3 1/2 years), absolutely spyware-free, trojan-free and popup-free since I use Opera, SpyBot and antivirus & firewall software. And I spend pretty much time online. That alone makes me avoid IE, Outlook & the like, but of course that's not to say that I want to put down anyone who uses IE. After all, each advantage you get comes at the expense of aomething else... it's a magic triangle made up of the three points security, compatibility and ease of use - where between these three points you find your "hot spot" is an utterly individual decision.

yeah firefox rulz....i don't use ie coz it's old and doesn't have alot of the features new broswers do i also got myie2 which use ie as it basis but i don't use it as much coz it'always get's hijacked by spam\spyware\adware i wouldn't have it on my hd but my brother and sis like ie more :(

that search tool thingy worked for a little while, until I started getting all sorts of random errors I'd never seen before. I removed it and everything's AOK! Was this designed for XP?

I also use opera ... works like a charmer like nova would say ...


and I won't miss mouse gestures, every time I wanna use them on IE, i'm getting somehow angry ;)

Sure does. I never quite liked any Mozilla / Netscape interface I saw, but then again I'm really happy with Opera, so no problem.

Hehehe, I suppose it's like going back to a mouse w/o scroll wheel again - you'll scratch the plastic in the middle of the mouse and mutter curses while you're working... :D

NO NO NO! Of course you can use the mouse wheel in Opera!!! You can even perform many more so-called "mouse gestures" (a bit like in the game "Black & White") to perform various tasks (fully customizable)!

IE can't do this, and I wanted to say that going back from Opera to IE must feel like going back from a wheel mouse to a normal one - you'll desperately scratch the mouse where the wheel used to be...
