Default How today's update affected czero and csbot - 04-05-2004

Today's czero TOD mission editor template documents revealed something quite amazing to me:
You can assign each bot personality a skin of their own!!!
even for a czero multiplayer server!
I had a mp server up running 10 bots each with a different player model against 8 humans using the default skins. 18 different player models all running around the map is CRAZY!!!
for more info see here:
http://www.turtlerockstudios.com/for...opic.php?t=339

Also, they added the option to run map specific server commands in the sp campaign packs.

Some "not yet used" commands were in the dox that hinted that valve will start running Tour Of Duty as another mod? Basically you could play the TOD missions on-line with a # of people, all trying to complete the same objectives, instead of just strictly single player. If you don't complete objectives, your whole team doesn't pass. I can't believe how valve made this game so "modder" friendly.
Thoughts?
Does this encourage anyone to purchase czero?
Does this make anyone despise czero?

Are these CSbots on the picture? Remarkable tactic: two well-placed terrorist grenades can finish the round

unfortunatly revamped textures and models aren't enough to make me wanna buy CZ...

besides in a few decades HL 2 will be out and CS/CZ should be easyily ported into it.... so im gonna try and be patient...

the screenie looks nice.. but again too little WAY too late...

Hah, yea all T's were dead and looking for the bomb which was on the ramp to the left at the base of the wall... I was trying to get as many bots on one screenie as i could. The bots, tactical gameplay is amazing. you can hit your radio and say "cover me" and at least one of your team-mates will watch your back. Running when you run, walking when you walk. Or you can say "Regroup Team" and watch your team fall back to your possition for back up. Works alot better than need backup which the bots like to reply, "No sir," or "Negative!" And I was refering mostly to the fact that the game has gotten so... "modder" friendly.

hmm...
You must be only into mp, as there are two sp mods for czero, Tour of Duty (which may become co-op in the near future), and Deleted Scenes (Half-Life style story mode). Tour of Duty's ability to be customized gives this mod tons of replay value. Deleted Scenes just had a custom map put out (cz_swamp) made by a designer at ritual, who never finished the map before the game came out. Amazing map, but too detailed for my comp. Theres mad fog all over the map giving me like 8 fps... It seems czero appeals to the older kids as many younger players feel they are above bots. I like playing against the bots in sp missions to get away from the idiots and h4x0r5 in mp on-line. I played on-line mp for the first time yesterday since getting the bots, and I owned 32-11 on de_dust 26 player pub server. Ok, now im rambling...
response?

Another killer update for CZero!!!
New hostie AI update!
The new update adds a whole new dimension to cs_ maps! The terrorists now must camp the hosties to avoid them escaping on their own. CT's can now rescue a hostie from across the room as well, as long as they see you and there are no T's around. Terrorists can also move the hosties (by pushing them or shooting in the air above their heads or at their feet) back to their homes after a failed escape. This update also fixes problems with old hostie problems. Like on cs_italy_downtown, the hosties used to not be able to climb stairs following a bot. The update fixed this and the hosties can now be rescued by the bots making the old map finally playable! Also there's a new player location system worth mentionong. Just below your radar, your current place is labeled (TSpawn or BombsiteA) Also, your team-mates have their labels on their names when they talk, so if someone says "I need help!" Their location will be displayed after their names. ie: DEAD @ Apartment:"I need help!" The location is displayed after player names in chat as well as after your name while using your mic!
