Default fritzbot running problems... - 11-11-2005

hi all, I had searched all forum without lucky for my problem

while fritzbot is running, I see bots appear and disappear while jumping and firing themselves and between humans players

furthermore, it's more difficult to kill a bot (I think because they disappear) and it's difficult for a bot kill a human player

why fritzbot is running so?

help me, thanks

Can you give some details about your pc and rtcw installation?

System specs (o/s, cpu, vid card, memory) and versions of rtcw and fritzbot would help.

I try on two pc: my notebook acer travelmate 800, p4 1,6 GHz, ati mobility radeon 9000 video card, 512 mb ram and the same problem is on p3 733 MHz, intel 82815 video card, 256 mb ram.
rtcw version is 1.41 with last punkbuster enabled (but it's the same with punkbuster disabled).
fritzbot version is the last 0.51 beta.

also, players (bots and humans) fly without warning and then die falling down.

without fritzbot all run correctly.

regards, ntf5

Do they act as if they are double jumping? Like do they jump while in mid-air and act like there's no gravity whatsoever?

Okay that's what i thought, i got this problem once before, and i think CrapShoot got it once. As far as i know it's a bug that we have no idea what the cause is. It's been in Fritzbot for awhile and it's very sporadic (it shows up out of the blue for no real apparent reason at random)

The only fix we found for it is to re-install RTCW. You'll of course have to re-install the patch and maps and such but a fresh install works. So make a backup of some of you're important files and such within the RTCW directory (not you're wolf setting configs though as it may be some wacky RTCW variable causing the problem) but like waypoints, save games, custom maps, etc. you should backup (or move to a different folder until after the re-install)

I wish i could give you an easier fix but this is the only solution to this problem we know of and it does work. On a side note, this would make a good addition to the Wiki FAQ, so i think i'm gonna add it.

Hope everything works out for ya.

Hey, today I got a similar problem when playing on a non-dedicated server. After trying a few cvars, i found that g_antilag 0 made the problem go away (for me at least).

Hope this helps

Interesting, maybe it's something to do with Antilag? I never have it on though and i've gotten this problem before. I wish i would have payed closer attention to which Cvars i modified at the time it happened. I remeber altering Synchronous Clients and turning that on for demo recording, i also remember messing with my ZoneMegs/HunkMegs/SoundMegs settings too. Maybe there's a bug if one of the Cvars are enabled or modified. We already ruled out g_gravity though. Keep an eye out for this guys because it would be great to squish this bug as it's pretty harsh when it occurs.

I may just go through for fun and enable/disable Cvars until i hit the one causing the problem. You never know.
