xp pro is rock soild ...i use to use xp home and it crashed often...i havent had a crash since i installed pro...(~almost 6 months now) and i don't even use windows update, i just wait for service packs to come out and then reformat n install windows to keep it clean.

Just FYI: On my internet PC, Win98SE (should be "SA" for "stone age") has lived nearly 2 years so far, and on my other machine a little over a year. But it highly depends on what you do, of course. Being able to keep all the internet-related stuff off my "real" PC helps me a lot. Besides, I hardly install new software unless I'm absolutely convinced that it will help. But before, I reformatted VERY often. That was when I still had WIN98 first edition...

I fixed it.. or a bunch of anti spyware/adware did, (downloaded 5 ) and ran them all. One by one and when they finished I ran them again.. they still found spyware and stuff... well, don't know wich one did it but my comp is working like a charm again
