I have tried different things, but I can't get my bots to work. I strictly followed the manual. First I started a new counterstrike game with "random map", when I had chosen my team I disconnected. Then I installed IvpBot1_1_1.exe in to the right folder. Then I downloaded the ivpbot.dll and I repleased the old one. Then I have put the liblist.gam to "read-only". But there is also a liblist.gam.bef should I put that one also to "read-only"? After I have done all that I started a new game, but no bots. I tried to adding "-dll ivpbot\ivpbot.dll" to the launch options but then it won't start a new game directly and when I try it again counterstrike crashes. Can someone give me a hand?
You are combining two install methods.. ie. the old way and the new way.
If you are going to use the -dll ivpbot\ivpbot.dll in the launch options then you don't need to change the liblist.gam. If I were you, I would delete your current liblist.gam and rename the liblist.gam.bef to liblist.gam. This should return it to it's normal contents.
Now provided the ivpbot folder is actually in cstrike then it should work. In windows explorer the full path to the ivpbot.dll would be
\Steam\SteamApps\youremail@some.where\counter-strike\cstrike\ivpbot\ivpbot.dll.
(right click ivpbot.dll and select properties to compare paths)
If it's not like that, then cut the ivpbot folder and then left click on the cstrike folder and paste it.
BUT WAIT!!! There's a better, more convenient way.
Did you notice the option to create a desktop icon for cstrike when you were selecting properties to get at the launch options?? Do that. Then open the desktop icon and add the -dll ivpbot\ivpbot to the target in the icon so it looks similar to this.
\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 10 -dll ivpbot\ivpbot.dll
No matter which way you choose, you still have to return the liblist.gam to it's default state.
