Default How to install? - 16-08-2010

So I downloaded about 2000 waypoints from here and I unzipped them to cstrike/maps. All of them are pwf files, nothing else. This is absolutely useless. From a different pack I got, I had 5 different files for every map, not just pwf.

What should I do? Am I doing something wrong?

You only need pwf waypoint files. When you load a map the bot program will create the other waypoint files. One of the waypoint files it makes is an experience waypoint, so bots can retain certain information and danger areas.

Place all PWF files in the wptdefault folder.
It's usually: c:/Program Files/steam/steamApps/<username/email>/Counter-Strike/cstrike/addons/podbot/wptdefault
(That's for windows users who use the Steam Engine).

You will also have to download and install the maps at your own accord.

If you still have problems look at the podbot mm documents.
http://podbotmm.bots-united.com/doc_...stall.html#III
Look at the NOTE under section #III.

In the documents there is also a waypoints section you can look at, it will explain what waypoints are and the various types of waypoints the bot program will make and how they work.

I sent you a PM.

I was saving them into the completely wrong folder. /facepalm

Now that that's cleared up, I have one question: Is there a way to make bots use the "use" key? The whole reason I'm on this site is to play old-school cs beta maps. Nobody plays these maps online at all. Obviously, there's no reason for me to ask for de_dust or cs_office waypoints when I can play online.

But, a portion of these old school maps have some actions that could be considered very "complicated" for a bot to do. ie: ("Using" a button to open a door; Shooting at wooden boxes to clear the path) Things of that nature.

In the podbot mm docs, there is a waypoint flag that you can attatch to a waypoint for them to use a button, or use a lever, or even use an elevator/lift.

Also if those boxes in the map are breakable, bots will shoot them or knife them to get them out of their way.
However, there is currently some tweaking needed for the bots when they have to destroy a breakable object in a small place (like a vent).

Wow. Interesting.

Do you actually use this when you make waypoints? If making the bots open doors is really possible, I might have a few more map requests if you aren't too busy.
You seem to know what you're doing and I really hate to be a pain. Is waypointing hard when you get it down?

Learning how to waypoint takes a while, but thankfully I had the podbot mm docs and a lot of patience from KWo to look at my waypoints and show me the errors I was making.

I also looked at waypoints that other people made so I could understand how things are supposed to work.

Ah ok.

Would you be willing to take any more requests?
